Hot bath has always helped with the wind cramps, can help release some to.

Hi, do you mean the tens machine? If you do I haven't tried them on my stomach, but suffer with arthritis, and I think they ease my pain. I use peppermint or ginger tea and use the wheat bags.

Hi Ollie I suffer with chronic IBS,and I've tried just about everything including Tens machine, and no they don't work for IBS. I gave mine to my daughter inlaw for her back she has a really big problem and she says the Tens machine works for her. If I had an answer for IBS pain I would make a fortune lol. Sorry I can't be of any help apart from have you tried an hot water bottle ?

thanks for your replies, just something that popped into my head and thought if it was perhaps placed somewhere on the body where the cramps appear it would be of help. Ive had IBS for years ever since I was a small child, which of course they never heard of in those days, Ive just turned 60 lol. I shall keep on trying to find some release from the pain when it kicks in. I find the wind when passed releases the cramp pain but its sometimes a harbinger of things to explode lol

Hi Ollie. I agree with Gemini, you can't beat heat and a good old hot water bottle. Then the next question is what have you eaten that might have caused this wind episode? My son is the long time IBS sufferer (14 years & counting) and has just started taking Colpermin and they seem to be helping a bit although the burping hasn't improved! Good luck.

High frazzledmother I do have a problem intermittently with wheat and also lactose, the lactose intolerance got quite bad at one point and I had to revert to lactose free foods. My intolerance goes up and down. I have tried Colpermin but they made it worse and didnt suit me at all, I do take buscopan but not on a regular basis, so therefore just grit my teeth and wait for the worst to be over with.
