Hi all 37 year old male. I get stomach cramps radiating into my left side and right side and under my rib cage amd into my back. also i never have a stool the same also have mucus in my stool.
I have had 2 colonoscopys and 1 endoscopy all came back fine my last colonoscopy they took biopsy samples which came back clear aswell.
I am overweight and dont eat great. Things like buscopan dont work.
The specialist said its most probably down to diet and ita causing a little ibs and referred me to the dietician.
I am just wondering what other pains symtoms people have and where they feel pain etc. My comes on for weeks at a time then goes for a few weeks then returns does anyone else find this for them to.
Thanks look foward to hearing peoples experiences

Sorry to hear your feeling rotten just now. It sounds like there's a possibility that there are gall bladder problems. I had mine removed 43 years ago, and I was having the same pains, goes for a while then returns. Because I was so young at the time, 20, but it had been going on for years, they finally decided it was gall bladder after many tests. I had loads of stones.
It's worth suggesting to the doctor, no harm in getting a test even just to rule it out. If it is gall bladder, eating fatty foods will bring on pain.
I can relate to this. Was in A&E 3 times last summer with similar stomach and back pain but the pain travelled down my left leg and also into testicles. I could hardly walk and after all the tests coming back clear the doctor gave me mebeverine and it actually worked.
I took 3 a day for quite a while and then stopped as symptoms faded. Now if I have a flare up I take mebeverine and it seems to stop symptoms getting any worse.
Have they checked you for other things as well like a hernia , done a stool test to check for inflammation because things like diverticulitis aren't always visible at the time of the colonoscopy if you have no symptoms at the time of testing, done an ultrasound to check your gall bladder , stomach and kidneys , blood tests for kidney function, liver function , Crohn's or coeliac or a bile acid malabsorption test? There are so many reasons that can cause the pain on both sides which comes and goes , sometimes it is IBS and often Gerd or gastric reflux , but sometimes they are caused by another condition.
It is definitely worth going to a Dietitian if it's offered to you. They don't just talk about what you eat but also assess your symptoms and can request your GP to do more tests like Stool and SIBO tests which doctors often try not to do because of the expense. They help you with ideas about what to eat but also recommend medications or prescriptions for probiotics and supplements for your GP to prescribe to help. They can also send you for classes , to support groups and for CBT to help make it easier for you to learn new ways to improve your diet if you find this hard to do.
If Buscopan isn't working for you has your GP offered you some form of antacid or gastric medication to calm upper GI symptoms like stomach acid and gastric reflux?
Have they suggested supplements like Fibrogel , vitamins and minerals , increasing the water you drink each day or other muscle relaxants like Duloxetine to help ease any spasms and relax your bowel?
Yes, my pain is generally on the lefthand side and comes on in the early hours of the morning. This goes on for a couple of weeks and then all is OK for a short while. Buscapan didn't work for me, however my GP prescribed Alverine Citrate which, coupled with Alflorex probiotic, has made my life so much better. I get the occasional stomach cramp and loose stools but I am so much better. Not so much bloating and flatulence as well.
