I just wanted your guys take on my current situation as you all get it.
I have been suffering with stomouch problems since the birth of my son. Mostly bloating and feeling full EVERY day and along with that comes the excessive belching and from the the other end 😂 however the doctor put it down to the medication I was on. Fast forward now, I’ve been off the meds for two weeks and no change. She has prescribed me Famotidine. Which has instantly made an improvement. We get done stool and bloods which came back fine and she has just sent off for another stool test for inflammation of stomach. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any feedback on Famtidine?
Lastly I’ve been having chest pains while all of this has been going. Sharp pains in the centre of my chest. As quick as they come they go. Obviously I then go in to a frenzy thinking I’m having a heart attack. As soon as the pain goes though I 9/10 burp or pass wind. I’ve mentioned this to my doctor twice now and she hasn’t really touched up on it and I always leave there thinking she’s missing something. Should I be worried?
Sorry for the rant. My anxiety is all over the place as you can imagine. So thankful for your input 🤍

Hi. I was on famotidine about 6 weeks ago. I had watery diarrhea and pains for around 2 weeks. All bloods and poo tests were normal. I also had discomfort at centre of chest which i took gaviscon Advance liquid and this helped move it as well as sips of boiled water. I still take this gaviscon advance after my evening meal. I was on famotidine for a 2 months course and found these brilliant. If you feel better after 1 months course ask for another month to make sure all has cleared as they say it takes around 6 -12 weeks to heal. I had 1 x 20mg at about 9pm every evening. Dont take gaviscon with the famotidine. I have been fine since end of course. Let us know how you get on.
Hi, I take famotidine daily and have done for a number of years due to being on long term anti inflammatory medications. It works wonders for me and on the rare occasions that I get some acid reflux or gastritis I just take an extra dose each day until better (doctors approved this approach).
have they checked your gallbladder? This is frequently common after childbirth. I have taken famotodine for a few years. No problems for me, but I do occasionally still get heartburn.
Hi there, I've just found your message as I typed in my issue I Currently have. I have been suffering from excessive belching for 6years plus. It started off only a few times a month to weeks then days now I have it everyday. I suffer with my stomach too, bloating etc and excessive wind. I've been omeprazole (did nothing) tried other acid reflux tabs) I've had the camera down to check for Gerd and all clear. I wouldn't describe it as acid. It's like a pocket of air, which randomly appears in the back of my throat which makes me burp then I can't stop. I can be doing it up 2mins like a mini flare up or attack. Which then gives me hiccups😐 and they are a nightmare! I am absolutely exhausted by it all. I suffer with fatigue so bad, plus I feel full and have no appetite and have lost weight and can't gain weight. What could it be? I have been on a gastroenterology waiting list for 1yr now.
I'll love to hear if you have an update ok your symptom or a diagnosis?
I can relate to you and your symptoms so much. It’s so tiring. I’ve had 3 stool tests. One normal and 2 borderline however the last one was only one point over what they would class as normal. I’ve had blood tests which have been fine I’ve been changed to famotidine which has made a massive difference I still have days where the feeling full and heavy feeling in my throat is at its worst but for the most part the symptoms are better
I’ve finally been referred for a endoscopy which I’m terrified for. I’m just worried what they may find although my doctor has only referred me to out my mind at ease as she wanted to do another stool test. As I have health anxiety she referred me straight away.
In terms of symptoms I experienced wind and burping. A heavy feeling in my throat sometimes and sometimes when burping I bring back up abit of food. I’ve also started having chest pains sometimes but not sure if it’s due to the excessive gas or due to an injury I had a few months back. The biggest symptom is feeling bloated and full. I’m hoping for some answers on Monday that won’t be so sinister. How are you getting on?
