Hello Everyone,I am hoping that someone may be able to help me.
I have been constipated since childhood although having a good diet with fibre. Many years ago I was diagnosed with IBS, stress related, having many visits to the bathroom without pain or bloating; I do not take medication. I have an underactive thyroid and take Thyroxine.
Over the last year or so I have lost weight going from a size 16 to a 12. I have had an endoscopy, 2 colonoscopys, a CT scan and will have an ultrasound soon and seing a dietician. Recently I'm having more frequent bouts with some pain lower left and back. Some weeks I go most days and still have an episode. My stools, at the moment, are large and bulky sometimes blocking the toilet. Resorted to Dr Google which suggests Steatorrhea. Does anyone else have this or similar symptoms. Thanks in advance for your help.

Drink plenty of water, warm compress on stomach along with a warm baths. Exercise, stomach area stretches, lose a litter more weight, go swimming 2 -3 times a week. Stop with iron tablets for 2 days of week if on them. Rub/massage stomach in shower with one hand whilst allowing shower hose torrent of very warm water to pour on your head with shower head attachment unscrewed and taken off, shampoo and massage your head at same time as water pouring over it whist also rubbing stomach in circular anti clockwise motion doing both simultaneously for a good 5 -10 mins max. Get out of the of shower, dry self quickly and lie down flat, and continue to gently rub stomach, You should start to feel movement within whilst in the shower. Also kneed soles of feet firmly whilst in the shower. Sit down on floor of shower or go on all fours if possible. That stomach rubbing, head and feet needing is so important under warm water as all are connected to stomach. Rub, kneed and massage your whole body. Allow the water free of the shower head to cascade and pummel over your head whilst rubbing your stomach anti clockwise and kneed and massage your feet, lower legs, backs of anklos. You will feel movement slowly happening in your stomach.. Don't forget to massage and kneed your feet firmly too. Drink water before showering or bathing. And run that stomach too under the warm water, must be anti clockwise circular rubbing. keeding back of head and neck too, listen to your body, it will tell you the areas you need to pay attention too. Also before starting that, give a few moments just for your body to unwind and soften under the lovely warm water. you can Don't forget to drink a glass or two of water before showerinj/bathing and do ensure to unscrew shower head taking it off hose and just allow the water to cascade directly over you from the hose. Keep your body warm after out of shower/bah wrapping body in a towel over shoulders not around chest, and wrap up hair and head to keep that soothing warmth in.
How odd your replies have vanished. Yet this one telling me the other two vanished hasn't vanished. I wonder why the other two vanished? I have memory issues, but am quite certain I didn't get to see those two replies. Maybe try messaging me privately in my profile on here rather than replying on here where everyone can see your replies as it is possible someone complained/reported for some reason about your two replies that vanished. I certainly didn't though as certain I didn't get to ever see those. x
That's ok, the same happens to me sometimes, and then I just can't reply again as to long to repeat, possibly for a 2nd or 3rd time after it vanishing 1st time. xx
Hi I've suffered with constipation since childhood too. I'm on long-term medication now. Maybe a stool softener would help now you're actually managing to open your bowels? I find too much fibre makes me a million times worse as it bulks my bowel making it hard to pass stools. Good luck.
