Just wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem I’ve had for as long as I can remember - I can’t seem to lay on my left side. Whenever I do my guts will gurgle incessantly and I tend to get the worst trapped wind just under my left rib (this hasn’t been as bad since I started Mebeverine). I’ve googled and all I seen to run into is splenic flexture syndrome?
if it is this, is there a way I can stop it? I’m a side sleeper but usually have to sleep on my right because of this but then it doesn’t help the reflux and despite taking Omeprazole I still sometimes wake with the sore throat associated with GERD..

Do you share a bed with someone? If you do, and there aren't two sections to the bed, then this might not work, but if you don't, then raise the head of your bed on something solid like breeze blocks or piles of strong books. You will need at least 6 to 8 inches of lift. If you do that, gravity can stop acid coming up while you sleep.
There are wedges you can buy too. But don't do it with pillows because that never works, and you'll probably slip down in the night or get a bad back from being in a weird position.
if possible get an electric bed with the facility to raise your head I have been so much better at night . I use get bad reflux at night. Now only take omeprazole in the morning no reflux at night.
Hi there. I have a similar thing on my left side. Wind collects there and I sometimes have a sharp pain, but there's always a sensation there. I too awake with a sore throat sometimes with GERD. I'm not sure what it is but it feels lumpy, size of peas. Probably just fat. Drs say it's ok. Hope you get an answer.
