I stopped taking Laxido as it has made my IBS worse. The Dr has now given me buscopan taking 8 a day. Still cramping and diarrhoea. Has anyone taken imodium and buscopan together?

Buscopan and Imodium
Yea I take both when necessary. Thw imodium is good for stopping diarrhoea, but it can cause cramping, so I take buscopan as required.
Hi The problem when taking both Imodium and Buscapan at the same time is your body doesn't know what it is doing. Buscapan is like Meberivin which I'm taking relieves the stomach cramps and the Imodium slows down the diarrhoea.I think it maybe a good idea to stop taking the Imodium and everytime you have stomach cramps is to take the Buscapan when required and see how you feel. If you feel that your constipated then take the Imodium but only if needed. Also if you haven't already,Do a food diary. This Will help you in finding out what gives you these cramps in the first place.I think the cramps relate to the fact that taking Imodium is building the food up inside the stomach. So your going the other way creating IBS C. That's how I see it.
hi I take both told to use when needed
I don't believe in taking Imodium unless absolutely necessary as in a long journey, I prefer to take Mebeverine time release to calm the bowel down. But would not take both as the same time
I take both when needed. Doctor said was ok to take at same time. I am pretty controlled at present but still use both at flare ups
