Buscopan

Hi Just to add to previous post.

Would appreciate anyone's opinion on buscopan tablets. Just started taking them.

I've tried them a couple of times, for a couple of days each time. They are supposed to work in 15 minutes. They seem to have no effect on me. My IBS is more complicated as I also sufferer from diverticulitis.

I take Buscopan regularly. I prefer it to Meberverine (which makes me really constipated). I find that even if I’m feeling a bit gassy in the morning that on taking a tablet helps to calm things down.

Its not a cure all but it does help.

hi Elgar1961 one tablet in the morning does seem to reduce the pain a bit. Any more than one tablet seems to cause constipation for me

I have tried several anti spasmodic drugs over the years and Buscopan is the best one for me. I only use it as required because I found if I take it all the time then my constipation is a lot worse.

My gastroenterologist says Buscopan is the better medication for wind and bloating etc.. I take it as and when (I have IBS bit also IBD) and with mini flares I take it for a week or two (sometimes more) most days. 3 a day is the max I take although with medical agreement you can take more. It does not cure.. it just helps the symptoms.

I’ve taken them for years, I haven’t had any side effects. They work for me, when I need them. Hope they work for you.
