Best meds ever for IBS

Time and again I read how we are all struggling with this rotten disease IBS and we all suffer with anxiety, stress, pain, depression, and everything else that goes with it. I have had IBS for over 15 years and was told by an associate of mine that they also had IBS for many years and was trying the Aloe Vera Gel by Forever Living. She has been taking it for just over 2 months and said her IBS is now extremely well controlled. She can eat anything she wants, her toilet habits are normal and all her cramps and bloating has stopped. She gave me the number to ring and order the Gel which is £20 per tub which lasts a few weeks. I have been on this now for 2 weeks and already I am seeing improvements. Not so much nausea in a morning, the diarrhoea in the morning has almost stopped to normal toilet habits, hardly any gas pockets in the gut coming through the bowel, and not much cramps. It is early days yet and I need to be on the Gel for at least 2 - 3 months to find the true benefit of this, but so far I am extremely happy with the results. I have purchased my second bottle ready for when the first runs out and I have purchased a bottle for my niece who's 24 and had IBS for many years. Please look it up on the internet and order some for yourselves, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. It really is working so far for me and definitely works for my associate.

Aloe Is working for me too, although I purchased mine at Holland and Barrett

Re Holland and Barrat the only Aloe Vera Gel they have is for skin application not for taking internally. Which product do you purchase and does it work for you?

It called Holland and Barrett extra strength Aloe Vera juice, it seems to be working for me at the moment. I have Ibs, a Hiatus Hernia which brings acid reflux with it, it's also calming this .

Hi bacon31, finally a person who understands, I too use Holland and Barrett's Aloe Vera juice - the most natural remedy I have used since being diagnosed with ibs myself, it should been know by doctors that it puts a lining on the stomach and stops you feeling so bad. I swear by the stuff!

How much do you take each day? When do you take it? How do you cope taking it when you are out and about? How long before you noticed a difference? Sorry for all the questions - but I'm REALLY interested in this.

I started on 30ml for a few days and then increased it 10 ml each day and am now on 60ml. I just take it once in a morning on an empty stomach or you can take it before tea. I recently went away for 4 days and just took a small bottle of the gel with me and kept it in my luggage for when I needed it. It really is fabulous, good changes so far and hoping for more, which I'm told there should be. Also Holland and Barrett sell it in liquid and tablet form, so check out their website also.

Thank you so much - so helpful. I'm very grateful and will give this a go.

Nothing else seems to work - FODMAP diet helps but not the complete answer.

My wind seems to be worse since I started taking AV. Now on 30ml. Do you think this is likely? What symptoms did the AV help?

My wind was definitely better for being on AV, but some say it gives them upset stomachs for a while, I guess we're all different. It seems to make me constipated more than anything, but then sometimes when I go, I seem to have to keep going as if I'm on catch up. I used to take one immodium plus to stop going to the toilet, but with the AV it doesn't seem to work and I need to take two and it stops it. I'm on my second bottle and they say you should stay on it for 4 bottles to see the full potential of it's benefits to each individual. So I will persevere with it until then, and if it works well, then I think I will try the cheaper options at Holland and Barrett as it does work out quite costly with the gel and perhaps the juice are tablets might just as well for less money.

I was thinking of getting this from Forever Living online and seeing if it helped me.

Many people (like those on here say it's great) I might buy one and see.

Health professionals don't know why it helps and they won't recommend it as a treatment but it seems to do good.

Might try it and see. Quite expensive though, well online it is anyway :-/

Haha

Hi Jackol,

I'm on my second bottle and they say you should stay on it for 4 bottles to see the full potential of it's benefits to each individual. So I will persevere with it until then, and if it works well, then I think I will try the cheaper options at Holland and Barrett as it does work out quite costly with the gel and perhaps the juice or tablets might work just as well for less money. It's £20 a bottle off my lady and she said if I'm going to use it regularly she will give me the contact details to buy it at wholesale price, so you may be able to get it a bit cheaper than you are perhaps paying at present. I think it is costly, but a cheaper option is Holland and Barrett, you could see if that works, if not, then at least you know you can try Forever Living. :)
