Does anyone have symptoms that are linked to urinary problems.

I had TURPS surgery about 3 years ago which went ok but my nocturia symptoms have never gone away. I often wake up at night 3 or 4 times with the urge to urinate both nothing comes. When I have a bad night it often coincides with a bad bout of my IBS with loads of bloating and discomfort.

I also often have to visit the toilet in the middle of the night to empty my bowels. Usually with D but sometimes constipated.

Been back and forward for all sorts of urology tests and had colonoscopy which was clear , blood tests etc and GP seems to be at a loss.

Just not sure where to turn next but so frustrated as it is controlling my life.

I believe my IBS-C started when I experienced enlarged prostate in 2016. This went undiagnosed for 6 weeks until I was rushed into hospital and a catheter drained 2.5 litres.

At the same time I became constipated.

Ever since I have had IBS, the level of which seems to vary with my anxiety/stress level.

Fortunately I rarely have to get up at night though my sleep can be disturbed by the anxiety.

I am now receiving counselling for the anxiety and finally beginning to get the IBS under better control. However just yesterday I had a very bad flare-up and the anxiety shot up too.

I've had that kind of inconvenience too but have not had surgery. Sometimes I can link it to food/drink, sometimes to migraine outbreak , but sometimes 'not known.'

I get UTIs pretty often after particular bad bouts of D. It just gets so messy down there, and I'm sure stuff works its way up the ureter. It's frustrating. I had sepsis a couple of years ago, and I'm a little freaked out by infections of any sort since they were not sure where my sepsis originated. Anyway, I get the frequency and the urgency as well as other symptoms of a UTI.

No, I don't have any actual urinary problems and I never get uti , but I have noticed one odd thing. I always need to pee much more, or wake up desperate to pee on days when my IBS-D is worse. I can't make sense of that at all. If water is coming out via urine much more, then why is there too much water in my gut?
