Hi there Sciatica travels from the sciatic nerve from your buttock right down the back of your leg It's like the nerve is being squeezed violently The pain when you walk if you can walk when it's severe is sickening The only thing, I was prescribed was a muscle relaxant in the end after painkillers and rest It's important to relax to reduce the grip on the nerve Even breathing deeply or coughing could hurt You do need it diagnosed properly but for me rest and trying not to stress as the more I tried to get on and do what a busy lady has to it just worsened A hot water bottle on the offending buttock or a bath if you can get in and soak I do hope it's not sciatica especially as you have other problems Good luck I wish you well 🧡

Thanks for the reply it’s very painful and can’t even turn in bed as it’s sore . I’ve been using a hot water bottle and heat pads ,standing up and trying to walk is hard as it’s so sore it makes you feel sick . But will contact doctor Tuesday but they are still hard to get face to face appointment . But can’t diagnose over the phone as have other issues as well . But taking parcetomol at the moment but it doesn’t help much . Trying my best . Thanks again 😊

I am sorry to hear that you are suffering but you do need to be seen and diagnosed it does sound very much like sciatica Have you lifted anything heavy that can damage a nerve Paracetamol didn't touch me I remember having to ro out of bed onto my good side then mechanically trying to straighten shouting out at e ery twinge Bed rest and a muscle relaxant was the only way to go oh yes and Deep Heat massaged gently in where you think it starts I would of tried anything It did relax and go I had a few attacks and now for years nothing Be firm on the phone for an appointment I will be hoping that you get one 🧡

I feel it was the extra activities with my grandchildren staying . So glad you said that you where shouting when you moved as pain is so bad . Will phoned doctor tomorrow and ask to be seen as with my other issues with my bowel have to be checked . I’ve been rubbing deep heat and can get in the bath and out so far a bit tricky but managed . Just get a sicky feeling with the pain . And getting very little sleep with the pain . Thanks again x

I see doctor today and she did say it was sciatica and inflamed muscle in my back . She is sending me for xRay as she was concerned about my breathing . Also a ecg 24hr monitor as well . So just pain killers and voleral cream . On my back . If not better in 2weeks to contact her again . So at least I know now . But still in pain . Hope your doing ok .😁

Hi there Thanks for letting me know I was concerned for you At least you got to see a doctor and sometimes when something like this happens out of the blue it makes us seek help You may well of just carried on thinking your pain and discomfort was your IBS but when you got sciatica which couldn't be ignored you find you have something that needs further investigation Then you think oh no not another hurdle to drag myself over but you will cos your stronger and will get through this as you do all others You may well find that sciatica will fade or at least become less severe My arthritic fingers are crossed for you You can now tackle what's ahead at least not just suffering on paracetamolTake care and try not to aggregate that sciatic nerve if you can at all help it 🧡

I had that so badly, same symptoms as you. Turned out it was IBS and cutting out the triggers the pain disappeared. I have C immediately followed by D still but no pain. The turning in bed and the ankle pain was the worst. All on the right side. Try Biofreeze instead of Deepheat or alternate. The cold was best for me, supplemented by Volterol 12 hour at night.

Funny you said biofreeze as I’ve been using that during the day . But tonight will put the 12 hour cream on to see if that helps . Only thing doctor suggested and doing some gentle exercises . Hope yours eases soon .😁

I have that sciatica at the moment but I find rest make it worse, I do some stretches there are some good ones on YouTube they really work for me it's all about getting rid of the stiffness you can do them sitting on a chair senior fitness even if your young they are the safest to start with if you are in pain, I also have IBS as if we didn't have enough to deal with good luck 🤞 hope it works for you
