yes, I get a lot of pain in my legs, one side or the other, sometimes right into my heel, sciatica, that I always get when I get a big flare up. Good luck with the low fodmap, I'm just starting it myself, without any supervision, to see if there's any improvement

Hi crunch - I have just discovered this site. I have experienced IBS since my 20's. I am now in my 60's. Recently I have had a bout which has left me with sciatica pain and pain that goes down into my right groin/leg. The pain is getting me down, as it has been going on for weeks now. I hope you have been able to find a way to avoid the pain. I am going to start on the fodmap and wondered if you had tried it? Also have you connected the sciatica and groin/leg pain as being related to the IBS? Many thanks.

Yes, I had all that.. Have noticed huge improvement since starting myself on FODMAPS. Also abdominal massage helps...check out YouTube for some videos on how to massage for IBS.

I get severe pain in lower right groin. Swelling too. Nothing when I'm in bed or sitting down but a nightmare if I walk long distances.

Sure its connected to gut and wind issues. Seeing specialist Monday.

Hey pissingmeoff...can you sit in the yoga position with crossed legs? I used to be able to very comfortably until just over a year ago when my IBS symptoms got worse..... Until i started FODMAPS and i have more of the sideways movements in my legs and hip coming back. Next week will be getting my results for bone scans etc and I bet they find nothing! Why don't the Drs in different specialities talk to each other???

Hello there, i empathise fully, I'm in an IBS C flare up at the moment and i get bad groin pain, more in the right groin, and goes down my thigh too. The groin is also tender to touch and feels slightly swollen. Horrid. I'm also in menopause so could also be hormonal. Walking, driving, stretching or just sitting and i can feel it pulling. Good luck on the fodmap diet. Let me know how you get on

Yes got the same with fibromyalgia. I dont know what to do. I put heat and take my prescription of CBD to help cope with the pain.

Yes, I also get pain in the groin area, pelvis and upper thigh! I can feel pea sized lumps in the area; sometimes they're very painful!

I have what is believed to be IBS: it can be with D or C, I just never know. I also have RA, urinary retention and more, so it's all a nightmare!

I saw a nutritionist, and am not to eat: gluten, sugar, meat, dairy, nightshades, cruciferous vegetables...what's left?!!!

I have to get serious about my diet, but it seems overwhelming!

Keep us informed. Best wishes!

Hi, just joined this chat site andI suffer with Fibromyalgia and IBS is also one of the symptoms, I thought the groin pain was due to Fibro but you have got me thinking now it's the ibs. Has anyone else got groin pain with fibromyalgia? I think that the wind is the most embarrassing part of Ibs have used peppermint drops, or suck peppermints and do not eat veg that produces wind, anyone got a good idea please.

I'm having the same thing..seemed like all week. I suffer from severe and chronic constipation and am on stool softeners and take 6 Senna tablets on Saturday night with strong coffee and Stevia. I am unable to have a bowel movement on my own due to weak pelvic floor. Senna is the only thing that works for me but during the week, the stool builds up and I think it hits the Vagus nerve making under my ribs hurt and tender. My left groin. Burning and aching sensation in lower back with sometimes stabbing pain and pain that goes either behind my right leg or in front of it. I finally have to give in because I can't sleep and take Naproxen 500 and muscle relaxers which relieve the pain but notorious for making constipation worse. 😟

Hi

Have you tried probiotics, especially the good ones. I use the ones with 20 billion cultures and the work well. A brand I use is Probiolac. Hope this helps

Yes Timmy, I have the same problem. I have had this for 30+years. The major interventions have not come from doctors, but plain trial and error with lots of research. Modify your diet as you discover which items do seem to make you sick. Stress reduction is also very important. Research the Vagus nerve and how it innervates your colon. Stress that effects the vagus nerve with kick of the " fight or flight " response we all have, but worse for us. Thus it makes the colon hurt with diarrhea or constipation. Every can or product you buy at the grocery store should be studied, especially the first few ingredient are the most important to look at. Sucrolose, Fructose, Palm oil, are just a few that will really set it off for me. A heating pad over you abdomen will help, as well as Tylenol, pain meds from you doctor such as oxicodonx will help, and immodium should not be overlooked if you get diarrhea. Good luck. This is not fun!🙂
