I have been suffering with an awful low down pain mainly on right hand side. I have had all the blood tests etc and on one occasion visited A and E with suspected Appendicitis.
My doctor has repeatedly diagnose IBS as the problem although it is a very localised pain. It almost feels like something is twisted??
Has anyone else had similar.
The other symptoms are gas, and bloatedness.

Thanks for getting back Linley. Apparently the lot! A full blood count. The only result I had was Border line Vitamin D deficiency. I'm despairing as what this may be
OK but as I have said before us women were designed with all our bits in the same area. We know our own bodies therefore we know if there is something wrong. For IBS you really need more elimination tests, stool tests for one and ultimately a colonoscopy, if it turns out it's not a Gastro problem you have to consider a Gynae prob. I have confirmed IBS and had many years of Endometriosis so I know the two 'work' together to make life difficult. Your pain is real, and I accept that these past 3 months have made us anxious, the symptoms you describe could be IBS, but you need to push for answers Good Luck🍀
I agree with Linley. Persist in your investigations because misdiagnosis in women’s abdominal issues is common. I don’t want to frighten you but the symptom you describe was one of the main ones my partner had before her recent diagnosis with stage 3 ovarian cancer. She would never have found it in time without her own bloody minded persistence. She kept getting clear results from ct scans, ultrasounds etc but felt something was wrong and persisted till it was found.
Might be worth a ca125 test (ovarian cancer marker), and ct scan.
Morning Jan thanks for your intersting.rwaponse..As the pain is over the right ovary position I had actually been concerned about something more sinister like Ovarian cancer..The full blood tests I had included the ca125 which I believe flags up any cancer in the ovary and as.it came back clear I can only assume it's not ovary related. I am at a complete loss as to what it could be and my GP seems to insist it's IBS.
I had a telephone conversation with her yesterday and she has now referred me to a Gastroenterologist consultant.
Not sure how long that will take
Thankyou so much for taking the time to write back.
Sorry for delay in reply ... just missed this. My partner is going well. After chemo, the cancer was almost gone. She’s now has surgery and we are continuing with mainstream and complementary therapies. Feeling very positive.
I too have pain on my right side, lower down. I was diagnosed with IBS nine years ago and only had two flare ups in all this time before now. This time it's nearly 3 months. Although most of my symptoms has gone, I still have the pain on my lower right side and occassionlly get pains on my upper right side (below my waistline) and left side. But mainly, the one I keep worrying about is the lower right side pain.
I've had a blood test done recently , everything cane nack clear. The GP actually said that they were really good. So, I think, as I get very anxious, I may be focussing on this pain instead of trying to get on with life.
Thanks Debbie. I do understand that the worry can sometimes exasperate the problem. It's a real worry though as I feel there's something going on that hasn't been investigated that may get worse.
I get this every day and it also goes into my back
Pleasure. I'm having the SIBO tests over the next two weeks (you can self refer in Australia). I'm hoping it will hold at least part of the answer to my gut situation.
My Doctor said lets not call it IBS! But he as recommend I see a Gastroenterologist
I had the same for a veeery long time and doctors just kept saying ibs, it was a dull pain, like a pulling feeling and in a very localized spot, if I pressed on it, it would actually make me jump in pain. I work as a secretary at an osteopathic center and I mentioned it to my boss, he touched it and said, that's your ileocecal valve, he did a (rather painful) manipulation and the following day the pain had gone.
Look up ileocecal valve, there are even videos on YouTube of how to massage it yourself, even though I don't think that would be as effective as having an osteopath do it.
I hope this might be of some help to you. Good luck x
