Im about a stone throw from officially being diagnosed as IBS after a rough few months but have slowly but surely gone back to my trustee IBS-C (I know that sounds stupid but after months of IBS-D* on and off this has been so uncomfortable as you all know).
So - from what I can make out, some medication I took (flucloaxillin..the death of all good bacteria) sent me into an intestinal MESS. I stuck to an incredibly bland and stodgy diet and have slowly come out of the horrible cycle I was in where I was walking on eggshells with what I ate. I get cramps almost daily but when I use the bathroom my body lets me live a little now, whether its loose or constipation (which its been for the past week).
I bought some Activia after months of people telling me to buy probiotics, i tried FAGE about two days after my antibiotics and Im not sure if it was the yoghurt but it made everything 10x more loose...however, this was when I was literally full of the medication and nothing would sit well with me.
i tried half of a strawberry one just now and its delicious but Im still not sure if im lactose intolerant...one of the only things i can eat is chocolate weirdly enough, even if Im having a loose day...but I never drink milk so its hard to tell. Anyone have any particular onset of bad issues? I want to fill my guts with good bacteria now I feel a little better. Also - for those who dealt with antibiotic d* - did yours ever turn to constipation? I feel safe eating out now cos usually I get hard and/or constipation stools which is what I had more or less 24/7 before I took the stuff
