Itching anus

Hi guys this post will most likely be the most personal one yet...

I have had issues on and off for the past two years with down there being really itchy and sore. I finally plucked up the courage to go to the GP two weeks ago to see what's going on. I was given a rectal exam in which he seemed to find nothing amiss and was prescribed tome lidocaine help the itching. I was told to go back within a week if the itching did not stop and it hasn't and is still present even with lidocaine. I am completely stuck and this mixed with IBS and anxiety is making me go a bit mad. I'm also worried mainly about the colour of it (it's very light blue/silver and pink) and I'm wondering if it's even normal. Any tips or advice on what to do next is greatly appreciated :)

Ask for referral to GI consultant or to obstetrician,(someone who deals in that area anyway) {assuming you are female, or else UTI.} Use vaseline, and don't let the area get too dry and sore.

It's possible you have parasites. Many of these are so tiny they are invisible to the naked eye. They also cause IBS symptoms. I have had comprehensive stool tests done privately which showed these up. In UK this test is not available on the NHS. Hope this helps.

I can really sympathise. I had this problem for about 2 years and nothing seemed to help. I even had a minor op for piles! In the end my consultant referred me to a dermatologist. She prescribed Elocan (Mometozone) -a medium strength corticosteroid -and it cleared up immediately. Couldn’t believe how such a simple solution could make such a huge difference.

Hope you find some relief soon!

I find a barrier cream (from doctor) helps prevent itching.Suggest you go back to GP , oh and ask for an examination to put your mind at rest.

Good luck! x

Sounds like piles to me. Have you tried a simple cream like ansol? Probably won't sort it out, but might make it more tolerable.
