So sorry to hear you are going through this and it’s so painful.

I am also I have no real advice. I think that you are doing all that you can.I don’t take any meds for IBS because I have found they don’t work for me. Paracetamol helps me with the pain.. I also find that eggs give me a lot of pain.

I hope that you feel some relief soon

I have ibs with constipation. At present i am having constipation after a Zoledrolic acid infusion. I am now waiting for it to wear off. I have always used fibogel. I am using that now to manage this constipation situation after this infusion.I used to use colpermin but it affects my acid reflux and heartburn issues now with the peppermint.

Zoledrolic acid infusion is for bones. I had the first one 5 months ago. They give you 3 annually. I took Alendrolic acid tablets before and I had the same problem with them ie constipation. They said the infusion bypasses the stomach but since then they have said it is on the uncommon side effects list. I am now waiting for it to wear off. It has been very difficult. Fibogel works ok for me. I take 1 sachet in the morning and 1 in the evening.

I just watch what I eat quite carefully. My ibs was very calm before the infusion. It is possible to have very calm times with ibs. You will get to know what works for you and what doesn't.

Hi Edgar 77 how are you doing today. Do you take any other medication . And do you eat normally. Or do you follow a diet. Does fibogel work for you .

You could try Rennie Deflatine. Trapped gas can cause extreme pain.

I also found that Alflorex probiotic has helped me greatly with IBS pain. Might be worth a 3 month trial. Sometimes a gut bacterial imbalance where bad bugs dominate in the gut can oversensitise intestinal nerves causing pain. Alflorex might help to bring things back in balance.

I find that a heating pad on top of my abdomen is very helpful when the pain is bad.

If the trigger has caused trapped gas could the pain be that? If so charcoal tablets (Holland Barrett) can absorb the gas and ease the pain.

I note this as the main source of pain for me is trapped wind, when I have a flare up it swings me from IBS C to D, triggers migraine and blurred vision, but thd pain is wind. Always the wind.
