I have suffered from IBS (D)for over 30 years with lots of flares over the years and worse since I had the covid vaccines ! I am now 70 and my symptoms have changed , I now have pain on both left and right of my abdomen ,and after eating suffer from bloating and generalised itching ( completely new symptom ) I have had numerous blood tests all fine ,had cat scan a year ago and colonoscopy and gastroscopy all fine ! Has anyone had a change of symptoms after all these years ? Would appear any advice thanks

Hi! Yes, I have had IBS d for around 30 years as well. My GP has said to me if your symptoms change come back and see me which I have done on at least three occasions. They have recently changed again. But since Covid I am not sure whether I will beable to see him soon as I have to get past the reception police 1st😁. May seek another opinion from the private sector.

Hi Mascot 68 Yes , I think the symptoms can change over the years . I started to have problems when 21 , now 76 . I think it started after a bout of gastroenteritis but almost certainly escalated when work got stressful and I became stressed.

After retiring , at age 50 , there have been changed symptoms. It used to occur every morning and maybe continued through the day , I think related to my work which was stressful. Now it seems more likely to occur after a meal ,so this is a little confusing . I now wonder if it was the stress of having IBS that made me feel ill , as opposed to Stress causing the IBS .

I think I'm my 70's it is just different but not really going away and at this age , I will just accept it and have no more tests and just get on with it as best possible.

I've had it for 40 years. At first, it was mixed. I then a long period where it was in remission. Recently, it's been C, though I have been able to mostly keep it under control with heavy use of osmotic laxatives, probiotics & plenty of fiber in my food.
