Been in pain with my tum for a year. It boosts terribly is tender to the touch and seems to get hot so I often have an ice pack on it. I suspected I've but ruled that out with colonoscopy. So specialist is now thinking IBS. However no diaroea or not much constipation but esr inflammatory markers are raised in blood test. Help can anyone tell me what's happening thanks. Oh pain much worse after eating.

Is this ibs
I am in a similar connundrum for the last 3 months - extreme pain some days. I've had tests to rule out the usual suspects, but still not convinced it is IBS as I don't have C or D. I'm still hoping that it is IBS and that I can learn to cope, but running out of hope as the diet failed for me and even antidepressants didn't really work.
I'm happy to hear you've made it a year. I wish you the best.
It could be food intolerance. Worth starting with a food diary to see if it throws up something. I have had IBS for 40 years. I don't always get C or D, my problem now is bloating, pain, cramp, and general discomfort. I know what foods to avoid, but still get caught out now and again. I have to be careful what I have at breakfast, some cereals can be bad, and toast made with some breads. Jumbo oats even as porridge. Weetabix is fine for me. Just make a few gradual adjustments. See if it improves.
What GP and hospital doctors have you seen, and have you had any tests done ?
IBS is a default diagnosis when you cant find anything else, so be careful to assume its IBS.
Silly question: How long have you had symptoms and how have they changed over time.
Wishing you well,
Ernest
Had colonoscopy and blood tests consulted gastroenterologist who said it's probably IBS. It is really restricting my life.
Wow! It's as if I wrote that me the same ESR been as high as 71. Ice packs pain swollen and tender. Had colonoscopy shows nothing therefore paid to see private specialist who said it's highly likely it's IBS. I have cut out milk and gluten for 3 days he already feel better. Also bought yakult to increase but bacteria. I take esomeprazole and that is not good in some cases as it reduces bacteria in gut and sets up probs. I'm sticking with what I'm doing as been bad over a year
There is a lot of sugar in those small probiotic drinks, and it can work out expensive too. I avoid them because I am trying to keep my blood sugar down.
I have tried about six or seven different probiotic capsules over the years and have settled on the Solgar multi available at Amazon and on line elsewhere. Of course, depends what works for you. Probiotics seem to reduce my flair ups, and I feel more comfortable in my gut though.
Thanks for that. Will try the solgar
