Magnesium.....
Magnesium citrate us the one.
Hello, I use natures sunshine, this was recommended by a nutritionist as being the most natural. It definitely does help me, I hope it helps you too.
Nick137....I am at the ending part of the battle of IBS C It has been a struggle but let me tell you there is an end of the road. If all is ok by your dr and you can take other combinations of drugs, I use regular magnesium (the type you find in any drug store) Mine is Magnesium oxide and I use 250mg once a day. Couple that with a fiber supplement. (I chose Benefiber because none of the others worked for me) I am finally A+ in the bathroom. I suffered immensely between Sept and Dec. and had all the testing and negative for everything. The doctor had me on all the prescription drugs which of course had to many negative, unwanted side effects. I finally did some research and started treating it my way and I am now comfortable.
Hope you get some relief. And of course if you are in a flare up, magnesium citrate is the way to go. I am not sure where you live but here we get it as a disgusting effervescent liquid. Doctor told me to drink the entire bottle and that was good for me!!
Good luck
Valerie
Thanks for your help everyone, seem like the citrate is the one to go for, Senna doesn't seem to work any more for me.
Citrate is a laxative type answer Basically a colon sweeper... will work but it will work but have you running. (unless you can use it in a small amount. I would say use that if you are stuck...ABSOLUTELY but you need something for maintenance. Everyone is different .... I used a lot of stuff and went by trial and error... AGAIN good luck!! I would also check with your doctor. Mine did not recommend daily use of citrate.
Hi Nick, have you tried Normacol,it's a really good natural fibre, you can take what you need as you need it. My Gastrologist prescribed that for me ,and it work well. But it is a little expensive .
Ps I also read slippery elm isn't good in pregnancy , but you are a guy so maybe research it . Works for me but may not for others like anything
