Anyone use natural remedies for Constipation?
Golden linseed, soaked over night in water for me,it can also be ground in a coffee grinder before taking
And it was thanks to you Grannycake that this is what I am doing now for constipation - thank you
My. Pleasure,hope it helps
Remember there are 2 types of fibre, soluble and insoluble
For me I try and stick to soluble, you may want to try that as well
Thank you.
I do tend to stick to soluable fibre and read up on it some time back after I'd had a Colonoscopy as I'd fed so well before and just after the procedure I looked more closely at the food they recommended you eat.
Hi walker2796, similar to Grannycake, soaking approx 15g of milled Chia seeds in a mug with water over night is good for me. Not very palatable first thing in the morning, but worth a try. May take a few days to reap the benefits. I don't use them all the time, just when I feel I need to. Hope you find some relief very soon 😃
I either take Fybogel, I take mine in a glass of sparkling water or I've got Normacol on prescription. My constipation is weird, it will just start suddenly, its strange too because I just know it's going to happen then equally suddenly it will just stop. I can eat all the usual things that ought to get me going again and nothing works then all of a sudden I'll go to the loo and things are back to normal. I just don't understand how my innards work, there's no logic to them.
Hope you get some relief soon, don't know why but I always find being constipated much worse than having diarrhoea.
Psyllium husk works for me. Linseed needs breaking down or it just goes through as it is .... as seeds!
If you have a spice grinder give them a blitz with some sunflower seeds. Add some ground almonds and sprinkle on breakfast. Tastes good with a little sprinkle of cinnamon. Yummy and helpful. Sue
Natural Calm works well for that I take it at bed time
yakult is very good - one a day helps as it is a proper probiotic which has good gut bacteria .Also check out the squatty potty on the internet it is a platform that makes bowel evacuation easier. It is a serious thing. Ignore the silly advert - it does help really.
Fennel Tea is really helping me a lot. It has so many benefits for the body but it also helps the digestive muscles contract and expand i.e. stimulates you to go. The more you go the less wind there is. It's been a game changer for me personally and I like the fact that it's completely natural.
After trying most things without success I read about Lepicol, which contributes to the maintenance of normal bowel movement, it’s manufactured by Probiotics International in Somerset and for the first time in many months I am able to go regularly. I found this on Amazon. Hope this helps.
I have used lepicol in the past works for some but it just gave me stomach ache
I would have linseed in morning or kiwi fruit every morning and take a probiotic optibac do ones especially for constipation and have a handful of prunes or prune juice it is the only things that work for me but be cafe full two much fibre can upset your stomach
