diabetes and prostate cancer
I’m a stage lll patient with a tumor out and against the rectum. 18 months of ADT lupron and zytiga with near 40 rounds of radiation. I’ve been reading about a relationship between diabetes and prostate cancer. I was told that my treatment (reducing my testosterone) probably caused it to increase dramatically

Advise me, please, on NDT dose/vitamins optimisation. Functional but at sea... Latest results
Please would you review these blood results and advise me? On EVERYTHING? I’m on Armour 1 grain and I stopped taking all vitamins (B complex Igennus) 3 weeks in advance of the test. Last dose NDT 9am, 24 hours before testing at 9am. I see that I’m undermedicated but would like a plan: how/by how much

For those who have taken both Thyroid S & other brands of NDT
Curious, did you take the exact same dosage? Felt that the doses were relatively equivalent between the two? If not, can you please post the differing amounts. Thank you

Let's Talk Kidney Issues
I had a stone removed from my right ureter 2 years ago; the preceding and subsequent CT scans showed stones in both kidneys. 6 months ago I went in for a follow up CT and found a stone completely blocking the left ureter (no pain). Surgeon removed the stone it but the kidney is only functioning at 18%

On the Possible Advantages & Dangers of Making Certain Dosing Decisions
According to Pylarify PSMA scan at beginning of 2022, I am mCSPC (lymph nodes only, but beyond oligo), and am now on the oral ADT antagonist Relugolix (Orgovyx) and Apalutamide, both of which my oncologist recommends that I stay on for as long as they work for me. I’ve also been fortunate enough to

Pharmacokinetics of NDT uptake
I wrote this two years ago, from a Medscape site. After all this time and the advances in knowledge since the I'm repeating it here, Note the difference in half-life of NDT T3, consderably longer than synthetic T3 (2.5 days versus 1 day). This is the ammunition which shows that NDT T3 is mostly protein

CAC Score of 477, what next?
Greetings, I always had borderline high cholesterol (190/200), In 2019 had a CT scan and was a bit shocked that it was 477 as I was very active with Crossfit..etc. That number, according to Dr. Google, is shockingly bad, and I stress every time I think about it. My cardiologist gave me a stress treadmill

Should my dad continue docetaxel? He seems weakening so much.
My Dad with mHSPC (GS8 and PSA 50) and we found this in June 2022. ADT was first treated in July and Docetaxel was started in Aug. After the 5th injection of docetaxel, my dad at the age of 75 seems very weak. The PSA drop from initial 50 to 0.28 before the 5th docetaxel. The first 2 docetaxel seems

Waking at 4:30 since starting T3
Hi all, I've tried searching because I'm quite certain I'm not the only one but the search function on HU is dreadful. Anyway, having had a spate for about 6 weeks of being unwell (covid & flu jabs and then covid). I am now finally feeling a bit more normal except that I have been waking at 4:30 or

Ascende RT-trial
It has been five years since the trial was published. Basically it said for high risk patients the combo of ADT, Radiation and Brachy was the way to go. Brachy Boost is the term I think. I look on the internet for updates but can't find any. Anybody heard about any updates on this info or know anything

start Casodex or wait for 2nd opinion ?
Is it okay to wait 1-2 weeks to start Casodex in order to get a 2nd opinion on treatment / hormone therapy recommendations ? My relative just found out he is Gleason 9 and urologist wants to start him right away on Casodex and then Lupron shot in 2 weeks. After that he would start radiation in

useful web site for comparing different treatments with os
I am still relatively new here and find myself reading the posts here each and every day. Yesterday, I received my HDBT treatment. 18 needles inserted with a dose of 15 Gy. Next week I will start my 25 days of EBRT and continue on with two years of ADT. One thing that I have often searched for is life

Statin Use and Survival Among Men Receiving Androgen-Ablative Therapies for Advanced PCa: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
New study from Canada. Laurence Klotz was a co-author. Yet another meta-analysis, but appearing in JAMA might help get the message out. "Twenty-five cohorts of 119,878 men (65,488 statin users [55%]) with more than 74,416 deaths were included. "Concurrent statin use was associated with a 27% reduction

Just getting started
Started my journey with a PSA of 13.7 in August of 2022. October brought the discovery of a lesion on the MRI scan. Later came the guided Biopsy with 12/15 cores positive with Stage 9 PC. Lastly, we had a PSMA PET scan which showed no spread outside the prostate. Ended up at MRiT3N0 M0 staging.

OVM-200 Phase 1 clinical trial ( vaccine)
I thought I would start a new thread as the original was about the decision making but now I’m in it I realise a clean thread may help. So today is day 15 of the trial and I am getting the second dose of the vaccine ( subject to clearing the screening this morning). I will then be observed for 4 hours
