I’m dealing with the emotional lability of ADT and was wondering if Antidepressants helped? Just curious about others experiences. I have tried escitalopram but was deathly nauseous 3 days in and stopped taking it and haven’t tried anything else. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

From what I undertand, seratonin causes the nausea. I'm wondering if people who have low serotonin levels don't get the side effect of nausea because SSRIs and SNRIs like Cymbalta bring their level up to normal.
I think listening to the men on this site and their suggestions would be helpful
The emontional “sadness” is due in part to the situation and probably not a lack is serotonin
Many antidepressants are SSRI and aren’t made to help situations but to place serotonin back
I believe loading your body with oxygen might help
Walking is a great way to due this .walking also releases endorphins which are feel good hormones try walking a little bit at a time and see how you feel
I get how it works well for you and did not mean to offend. I myself take both an anti-depressant & anti-anxiety meds to keep myself together. It's my hubs who has PCa & I've been his one & only sometimes fulltime caregiver -- lots of stress.
