When ADT fails, we continue it anyway... why not Zytiga?
This question may be more theoretical than practical, but I am curious. We use ADT to lower T and get a PSA response and regression of PC (and get symptom relief). Eventually ADT "fails" and PSA rises. But ADT continues to "succeed" in keeping T low, so we stay on it, since low T continues to be important

Four years of ADT, pros/cons
Four years of Lupron + abiraterone Pros: I'm still alive and castration sensitive, spine met not growing or painful Cons: Zero libido, muscle loss, fat gain, hot flashes, blueberry-size testicles, BP increase, body hair loss... and all the other side effects that many of you are all too familiar with

Lupron or Firmagon after Orgovyx
I am finishing four months of Orgovyx, but have two more months to go in my “sentence”. I can pay $6000 out of pocket for the last two months. I’ve had only minor side effects and work out regularly. I’ve lost a lot of weight and feel in pretty good shape overall. I have lost some of the fear of

Hello all! So after 8 weeks on 50mcg levo, 1 grain (60mg) NDT, and 10mcg T3 I have new results and I have to say I'm pretty surprised! I've always needed high T4 to feel well but I feel better than I have in ages on this dose... Dare I say, pretty much 'back to normal' ... Or at least what I think

Modified Citrus Pectin - reply from Dr Eliaz
A member asked me to post the reply I was to get from Dr Isaac Eliaz on MCP, Modified Citrus Pectin / Pectasol and I do this. Below is my communication with dr Eliaz, generously facilitated by AnnieAppleseed, followed by excerpts from two studies. Dr. Eliaz writes that 80 % of patients with BRPC,

Should I taper off NDT?
I have searched and read in this forum (and elsewhere), but cannot find much information on how to stop taking NDT altogether. In 2016 I started taking NDT - I didn't fall into the hypothyroid levels for THS/FT3/FT4 but had several symptoms since I was pregnant in 2006. (Test results below, before NDT

HELP! Symptoms getting much worse on NDT and I’m scared.
hello- Having being diagnosed as hypothyroid in November I’ve stated NDT (ERFA) as my first time on medication. I’ve been warned to potentially expect some unpleasant side effects but I’m really scared at the moment what is going on. I’ve been on it for 5 weeks and my symptoms have got MUCH worse.

PSA rising
My husband’s PSA has been rising since October. He is scheduled to see his MO at Tulane in February. Is the PSMA scan sensitive enough at this level to detect where the cancer is located? Is there another scan that would be better? I’m sure he will be put back on ADT but he would like to know where it

Can anyone comment on Stanford Medicine Health Care second opinion program?
How long did it take to get the second option, did it help guide you? My doctors are exploring cryotherapy, Brachy Therapy and surgery to remove the prostate. But ultimately, the final decision will be mine. I'm trying to understand the risk and success factors of each option. I was diagnosed 11/21

Vertebral Fractures [VF]
New study from the Netherlands, below [1]. One would expect bone issues with ADT, since near-zero testosterone equates to near-zero estradiol. When estradiol goes below 12 pg/mL (my limit, based on old non-PCa studies), bone loss can be rapid. But this study looked at men who were about to start ADT

I am in need of treatment advice for my Prostate cancer
Ive been in treatment at Shaw Cancer Center in Edwards, CO for metastic prostrate cancer. After a year of hormone therapy, radiation and chemo, my first PSMA scan revealed adenocarcinoma in my prostrate with seminal vesicle and perineural involvement. I have a PSA score of 0 and have had a history of

Covid-Induced Holiday
A week before Christmas, both my wife and I tested positive for Covid and it was the first time for both of us. My Primary Care wanted to put my on Paxlovid for 5 days but was concerned about interactions with my Orgovyx and Lipitor. Both should be stopped during the 5 days on Paxlovid and then for 7

muscle and ADT issues and questions
A question about side effects and Zoladex (goserelin) - I am into the third month of Zoladex and two previous months prior to this on Bicalutimide (casodex) following a MRI and biopsy Gleason 9 (T2cN0M0) last august after HIFU for G7 only 8 months prior didn’t stop PSA rise. Just completed 20 sessions

Father’s MO now recommending adding Zytiga
Hi all, my dad is nearly three years from diagnosis of Gleason 9 with evidence of spread to local lymph nodes (see profile). Has had IMRT concurrent with 3 years of lupron. Latest PSA 0.03, <0.02 6 months prior. Original plan from MO was to do Lupron for 3 years which would end 2/23. His recent appointment

Pain, exercise and weight gain
Hi I have tried and failed with trying to be active and managing pain. I have stage 4 endo extensive. All organs are adhered to each other. I also have mixed connective tissue disease and being treated with hydroxychloroquine. I have been on zoladex and Tibilone for 2 years waiting for a hysterectomy
