Xeloda
I’ve been on Xeloda for one week now and so far so good. 1,500 mgs in the morning and 1,500 mgs at night. I take Zofran 30 minutes before I eat. My question is when will I feel more side effects? I’m going to be 2 weeks on and 1 week off. How soon will I know if it’s working? Hope everyone is doing

Persistent migraine frustration
I got my first migraine when I was 12 years old. I got them fairly regularly with aura, painful, and nausea. They gave me fioricet or caforgot (sp) but I was so small back then that it just made me sleepy. Once I got over the nausea part of the headache, I would just "deal with" the pain for the few

Trodelvy Update
I started my second cycle of Trodelvy ( 2 weeks on one week off) yesterday. I am going to tell you that the first round was not easy because I guess this drug works so quickly to get rid of the cancer that removing all the toxins makes you very sick. I was sick and I lost five pounds. My platlets tanked

New patient feeling so sick.
I'm posting this for my (74 year old) sister. It will be long. I'm trying to be a good advocate for her. Sorry if I rant a bit. It's all new and scary. She entered the hospital 3+ weeks ago as an emergency having felt I'll and not eaten or drank much for 5 days. She was diagnosed with complete kidney

spasms
I have been having very severe spasm and pain in both of my legs the past two nights, the worst I have experienced to date. I am on muscle relaxants and tramadol for pain and carbidopa/levodopa for Pakinson like symptoms, none of which helped 2 nights ago and I ended up falling hitting my back and

advice on Piqray
I started taking Piqray about a week ago. My immediate side effect was nausea and vomiting. I’m taking Zofran and that has helped tremendously however I feel like I’m sleeping the day away. My question is, do you ever get used to all the side effects and move on to a “some what “ better life??? Thank

Infusion how long to "kick in"? Hehe.
I finally got my iron infusion (yay!) but it hasn't "kicked in" yet. No pun intended. Last night I had one of my worst yet. Zero sleep and threw up water & zofran all night. When I had my infusions in 2020 I was fresh out of COVID hospital and quite ill with pleural effusions... plus having been

Gemzar really kills my appetite. The Thought of most food nauseates me. Here are a few ideas that have helped: Good n Plenty coated licorice candy settles my stomach better than Zofran. Plain crackers and peanut butter. Ginger ale with a splash of Aperol (the bitterness helps w nausea) Plain cereal

Nausea with each meal or snack.
I was doing pretty well with no nausea for three consecutive weeks. However it has returned for the past week. It's gotten to the point I'm having to take a zofran before and after each meal, often. This makes one's life pretty miserable. I know that none of us signed up for this (HCC). And now

Nausea
Anyone know why HCC causes nausea after eating? I've found zofran amazingly helpful. However my pharmacy will only fill 9 tabs at a time (Don't know why). I find myself running out often. Anyone facing this situation? (Ie. running out of the 9 zofran and struggling to get filled as too early). Any

Splitting NDT - SHBG and cortisol changes - help!
Hi all, I have started splitting my Armour dose, taking less in the morning and more in the afternoon. I had a test for ft3 ft4, but also checked cortisol and SHBG. I was so surprised. My ft4 is similar to where it was before splitting, my ft3 is a tad higher. SHBG went up from 62 to 79.9. Cortisol

Celebrex and Curcumin and Magnesium.
I recently received a question from a fellow warrior based on a comment I had made on an older post that he had started. The question was what I thought about Naproxen compered to Celebrex and I told him I had very limited experience with Naproxen. I then clicked on older posts about nsaids and prostate

"Gasoline" Source
I have been trying to find the source for the observation? that "Testosterone to prostate cancer is like gasoline on a fire". I finally asked Bing Copilot and ChatGPT-- who came up with the answer. Me: What is the source of the "gasoline on a fire" theory in prostate cancer? ChatGPT: Dr. Patrick

What comes after, what comes next?
I have posted a few times about my dad. Stage 4, mets to 8+ bones at time of diagnosis, PSA at 137 (10/22.) Lupron twice a year, Bicalutamide, failed at 7 months, Xtandi failed at 4 months, currently on Zytiga. We met with my dad’s oncologist on 4/24. My Dad’s PSA dropped from 2.47-1.46 and pain has

ADT + Docetaxel
Am mCRPC and will be starting Docetaxel soon, after apparent failure of Zytiga. Would like to know if I should continue the ADT (zoladex), which I have tolerated well for 3 years. Most trial info I have found (STAMPEDE, CHAARTED) tests ADT alone vs ADT + Docetaxel, where the combination outcome is

Input on Timing of Initial ADT after RP/SRT Failed
After surgery and salvage radiation therapy (SRT) have failed, it appears I'm headed for androgen deprivation therapy. Like many things in the world of prostate cancer, the recommendations as to when to start ADT seem to be all over the place, so I'm seeking any insights folks may have based on your

Salvage options?
Hello again, I have a few more questions, to help my husband decide between surgery and brachyboost. For context, he is localized Gleason 9. (1) Is the course of salvage radiation after RP typically the same as it would have been if the initial treatment had been radiation therapy? Or would it require

If you are thinking of Travel - Go For It.
Hello everyone, We're midway through our 10-week holiday adventure, and it's been quite a journey so far! From Japan to Finland, Turkey, and now Italy, we've covered quite a bit of ground. Traveling alongside another couple, our time in Turkey stands out, where I took on the role of designated driver
