I started taking Piqray about a week ago. My immediate side effect was nausea and vomiting. I’m taking Zofran and that has helped tremendously however I feel like I’m sleeping the day away. My question is, do you ever get used to all the side effects and move on to a “some what “ better life??? Thank you for all your help!

Hi Lori, I'm on my 4th cycle of Piqray after progression on Palbociclib. I'm more tired but find getting out with my dog helps me push through it and feel better. Also the side effects have settled down in general. Best of luck with it! Gill
I take my Piqray immediately after supper, my largest meal. Same time everyday. That seemed to give me the least issues. I dint have vomit ever though only slight nausea at first. I’ve been on it 1 year 4 months and had moved the timing around a few times.
I’ve been on Piqray for 4 months now. I had slight initial nausea so I started taking it at bedtime and it’s been great. No other side effects other than CA15-3 dramatically dropping!
I had some rather severe nausea when I started taking Ibrance 2.5 years ago. I took Zofran but it gave me a constipation problem. Ginger tea(made from ginger root steeped in hot water) and ginger chews were helpful. It got better gradually, guess the body gets used to it as time goes on. Also ate bland stuff for a while, still have to be careful.
When I had severe nausea from (I can't even remember the name of the drug), my onco also wrote an rx for zofran. It did not help at all with the nausea. I stopped using the zofran and started drinking room temperature ginger ale with plain saltine crackers and that made a big difference. It worked better than the zofran.
yes. I’m starting 9 th month of Piq and it gets easier for me as the time goes on. Make sure you are eating a little fat with your tablets. Try to go low carb and keep busy. I found that when my blood sugar got too low I would always get nauseous— are you checking blood sugar with a glucose monitor? Are you taking Metformin for high blood sugar??
Regular, often tiny meals also help with nausea. Yogurt is one of my go to foods.
Thank you for your encouraging reply! Yes, I’m taking Metformin and glucose is checked regularly. I’m thrilled to hear you are on your ninth month! Hoping and praying the best for us both🙏🏻
Please try Dramamine brand ginger chews for nausea - they are a life saver and worth a try. They also taste good and don't cause drowsiness or all of those other precsription anti nause side effects, I LOVE THEM.
