Trialling Levo only after an issue with NDT, severe headache subsided to a point, BUT now feeling brain fog, fatigue and very bloated belly.
On first diagnosis, I was prescribed Levothyroxine and reached 100mg until I became pregnant with twins 13 years ago and had to increase it to 300mg, put on tons of weight, and it wouldn't shift after the birth. Fatigue also plagued me. After no support from the NHS, I decided to try NDT, being Thyroid

Lost, confused, worried - trying to conceive and thyroid/lining/progesterone issues
Looking for some help/guidance/support. Apologies in advance for the long post. My husband and I, both 31 and healthy, have been trying to conceive for a year now with no success. We've both had a number of tests and through my own reading and persistent private re-testing have identified my thyroid

Another way to view and treat Parkinson's?

Providing nutrients to increase dopamine in a natural way instead of giving Levodopa?Almost the entire population is deficient in magnesium, zinc, all the vitamins of the B group, etc. Even more so in Parkinson's patients

Not everyone believes in zinc and vitamin D
I seem to end up following the wisdom of my elderly mum over diet and supplements as we seem to have rather similar health patterns. So like many on this board are fully signed up to adding vit D, zinc and magnesium. I read an article today from a group who call themselves the root cause protocol

Been very hard to find a suitable multi-vit
I have been here long enough now to realise that I need only very select vits/mins in high quality and the right doses and absolutely do not need a ton of stuff that ordinarily gets put into the std packages eg iodine / iron/E/A/boron /B plus the rest etc etc But as I try to save packaging and costs

Dexa scan
I had to have a Dexa scan last Wednesday, arranged by Endocrinologist I’ve only seen once and discharged at conclusion of the appointment. Saw GP yesterday (appt made nearly a month ago after Endo appt) who said I would need medication if osteoporosis identified in scan (as TSH suppressed!). The side

Ongoing Zinc deficiency
I have been struggling to address this problem for a few years now. During an initial consultation my doctor mentioned that wholegrains blocked the absorption of Zinc. I gave up wholemeal bread etc for a while and did not see a difference so included it in my diet again. Recently I wondered if I had

The importance of zinc for hypothyroid people
Zinc is an important mineral especially for us hypos. When it comes to blood tests, it should be noted these are NOT reliable for determining whether or not you have a deficiency. "Levels of zinc either in plasma or serum are not reliable indicators for establishing a diagnosis of zinc deficiency

Folate testing
Im going to pay to have my folate levels checked, I'm currently taking a b complex, should I stop taking it before the test? All my other vit levels are tested and good apart from very low zinc... but endo says that suggests a gut absorption problem (I'm on 50mg a day and still just within range)

self medicating - hypo
it’s a bit of a long story, but I was hypo - didn’t know the range, but my GP said my thyroid gave up the ghost. This was 10 years ago and mediated 175 thyroxine a day, I had to have bloods a few years ago and a new GP told me I was euthyroid and stopped my thyroxine! Which I wasn’t happy about, tried
