Inhaler side effects
Hi all, I was diagnosed with asthma at around 12 and with the flu jab it has been controlled. I had the flu jab last September but recently had to take my inhaler more often. I used to be on a light brown one (unsure of the correct name) but stopped taking it 2/3 years back and just use the Ventolin

Hi everyone I’m looking for some guidance about biologics for RA after a slightly odd experience at hospital. I had a review appointment as an emergency some weeks ago due to ongoing foot issues and feeling increasingly unwell. Hospital tested me for various things while there and it turned out I

Shingrix shingles vaccine approved by FDA
I just read this article published in the New York Times, April 10, 2018. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/09/well/why-you-should-get-the-new-shingles-vaccine.html The next to the last paragraph is probably most pertinent to us. I'm sure it hasn't been tested on people with PMR yet but perhaps with

Kid acts nutty at md office visits
I know this is part of her adhd and anxiety but this makes my anxiety go full throttle. My 11 y.o will need to have a tooth removed because it's not coming out on it's own and causing some issues. She went berserk at the thought of having it removed and she would seriously have to be sedated (can they

Flu shot?
Hi everyone, I was wandering from an asthmatic POV, do people here get flu-shots, does it make any difference in flu prevention? I heard it makes you worst or I'm just looking into it too hard. Thanks David.

OK so I had my rhuemy appointment brought forward due to bad flare ups and just no relief from the pain of RA. My nurse has decided to try me out on biologics. I am currently on sulfasalaxine and hydroxychloroquine. Gonna add the biologic benapil. I have had blood test and chest xray. Awaiting results

Feeling spaced out, detached, fuzzy, dreamy, ‘drunk’, brain fogged constantly?
Hi all, I’m a 27 years old, healthy male with no history of medical issues nor have I ever taken any medication in my life. Beginning of November 2017 I had the flu jab and coincidentally my issues started two days after that. I felt spaced out and detached which really frightened me and caused me to

This Year's (2017/18) Flu Vaccine
It seems some people with APS have no problems with the Flu vaccine, while others do. This year, my INR shot up to 7.7. And, I seemed to have some type of flare. I've been suffering for weeks after the shot. Professor Shoenfeld in Israel (and others) is doing work on adjuvant syndrome, whereby the flu

The problem with self-management
When you're diagnosed with a form of chronic lung disease one of the first things that you learn pretty quickly is that a lot of the management of the condition is down to you. In some ways that's quite empowering. Once I got to grips with some of things that I needed to do to help myself like regular

Hi all! A good friend of mine back in WI who had a liver transplant is in ICU with the flu bug that we have been hearing so much about on the news. Wonder what you are doing to stay healthy this winter? Would love to hear your thoughts? I think it's hard sometimes when at work, and someone that should

Pneumonia Shot
Hello all....was wondering if anyone on here got the pneumonia shot and if so were there any complications? I did get the flu shot last October a couple weeks after I got sinusitis and bronchitis because I thought I was feeling better. It's been 5 months and I'm still coughing. My hematologist said

Oreavus questions
I'm slated to start Ocreavus, but am worried about immune supression. M.S. causes a "misfiring" autoimmune system, but without it, dormant viruses such as herpies simplex 6, from chicken pox, are not kept in check. There is a shingles vaccine, but what are the ramifications? What are your thoughts
