Asthma / GERD?
Hi everyone I’m new to this forum and hoping that some frequent users might be able to help me. I’ve been asthmatic all my life (34yrs), well controlled apart from the odd chest infection in winter. I was changed inhaler to Fostair 4 Year’s ago. Didn’t get on too well with it at first had palpitations

Now I'm just showing off....
Hi again girls. Just a bit of showing off as I'm still on a family visit high. A photo to prove my knitting non-skills and my cheapo 20 euro wig which I wore for just the second time at the airport yesterday to say goodbye. The expensive wig has never been out of its box since I got it as I don't

Is there any conclusive evidence that amitryptilene contributes to the level of tinnitus? Opinions seem to vary and just now I am struggling to cope with a seriously ill husband and need a prop. My lovely doctor recommended amitryptilene to help but I certainly don't want to worsen the T which is

You were very helpful last week when I wrote about the effects of reducing from 25mg to 20mg. I decided to go back to 25mg which led to a big reduction in pain. Then late on Friday I started to get a lot of GCA type pain all around my skull and temples, something I hadn't experienced since starting steroids

Some relief from my migraine
Just wanted to say I have been on Relpax for cluster migraines and they have worked 90% of the time. The tablet does knock me out for @3hours, I go to bed after I've taken it, and generally wake up migraine free. I am out of it for the next 24 hours at least but relatively pain free. I also take prescribed

Lost my mojo!
Could you experts clarify something for me? All the info on PMR describe the symptoms as being pain and stiffness in shoulder and hip area, always bilateral. What is never mentioned is the fatigue and lack of ' momentum' we all have. Is this because that is a side effect of the steroids and not part

Cogan's syndrome
My daughter has recently been diagnosed with Cogans and although picked up quickly within 2 weeks of symptoms has suffered hearing loss. Does anyone in the North East see a doctor who has good knowledge of Cogans? Thanks

Silver ring splints
My rheumatologist is sending me off to see a 'hand therapist' in September. I think in may be an OT, or physio trained person, but this is the title that is on the appointment letter. The things she hopes that they will look at are much like Occupational therapy, or physic tasks, but specifically they

Meds at 17?
Hi guys, I have had anxiety that has grown for the past months. However, I noticed my health issues (migraines, stomach issues) have made it a lot worse and triggered panic attacks. I thought I was finally done with migraines because I was a month and a half free of a painful migraine that needed a painkiller

Dipyridamole
Hello all. I've been doing some reading on Dipyridamole (Persantine in US). Does anyone take this drug and/or have any thoughts on its use in APS? What advantage does it give to APS sufferers? Is it used WITH Coumadin? How about Plavix? Does Dipyridamole have advantages over Plavix or Aspirin

Potassium iodide
When my son and I became suspicious about 2 years ago that we might have an iodine deficiency, we stumbled on Lugol's Solution and took 3 drops of it in our food for a few months. Extensive reading brought me to "Betadine", a potassium iodide solution sold in stores as an anti-biotic for scraps and minor

The wait is nearly over
Well Friday is the day we get the results of husbands investigations. He has continued to lose weight, but that it purely down to not eating much as he cannot stand the thought of bringing it back up. He is getting terrible reflux which he wasn't getting before and he's bringing up a foam like substance
