After a year of monitoring my TSH due to a bout of subacute thyroiditis, initially suspected as thyroid cancer. I am now at a point where my GP feels medication may be required and have undertaken an extensive range of blood tests through the GP I have an appointment on the 4th July to discuss options

New PA diagnosis
Hi all Recently found to have autoimmune gastritis with stomach polyps. I also have Hashimotos (autoimmune thyroid addressed & on meds) and ckd stage 3 I was given the B12 loading dose of 6 injections. I read since a high intake of B12 is not good for the kidneys? Does anyone know if this is the case

Vit D again
The prescription for Vit D has come through at last after a week, and the GP has given me Stexerol-D3 1000 capsules with the instruction to take 4 a day. I looked at the very handy Vit D calculator suggested on here and is says 10,000 a day to get to a level in 3 months or 25000 to do a loading dose

Is thyroid causing my symptoms?
Hi all, I’m looking for some advice about my blood test results and whether thyroid issues could be the cause of my symptoms. Also if anyone can recommend a doctor in Cardiff / South Wales I’d really appreciate it. I’ve spent years trying to manage and believing (being told) my symptoms are due to anxiety

Back after a long time
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in quite some time, but I'm back because I need input from all the wonderful people on this platform. More than five years ago, my mom had a fall and was put on hospice care. They gave up on us too quickly, and she ended up with an NG tube down her throat for months

Hello all, I normally write on the thyroid site because I have Hashimotos, but today I am writing to the hearties among us regarding my husband. He has had two mini strokes in the past, one was called a TIA and the other was called a mini stroke. His first one was twenty years ago and the second one

Low adjusted calcium level
Is there any link between thyroid issues and a low adjusted calcium level? Vitamin D is higher in the range around 100 (I take 3,000IU per day) plus was on a multivitamin as well. It has never been a problem previously but two blood tests in the last year (since starting levothyroxine) have shown a low

Advise on TSH and FT4 results
Hi All, Last week, I had a liver fibroscan, and the nurse informed me I had no scarring. However, he noted that there is a lot of fat (CAP score 307). The nurse took some blood samples, including TSH and free T4, as well as vitamin D, iron, transferrin, transferrin saturation, and ferritin. I already

Daily multivitamins do not help people live longer, major study finds
The taking of general multivitamins has long been questioned here on this forum. The article specifically identifies iron: Meanwhile iron, which is added to many multivitamins, can lead to iron overload and raise the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and dementia. I think we'd also advocate
