Hi, I am new to the PA site. I was diagnosed with under active thyroid in 2021 which I’m still struggling daily with. I have peripheral neuropathy in legs and can’t walk far at all and I’ve just turned 40. My B12 at the time of thyroid diagnosed with not being on any supplements was 379.8 (197-

high bp
hello everyone I have always kept an eye on my blood pressure over the years and it’s been pretty good up until now.I’ve noticed it’s gone to 160/89 Could my dose be too much which is causing the high bp? my last TSH test was 0.91 mU/L. I was taking 125 mcg up until 5 months ago,I then switched up

Pulsatile tinnitus links to Folate B9 and cholesterol
I have Pulsatile Tinnitus. I’ve just had blood test results… along with my folate B9 levels (having been very low when I first developed PT) I also have high cholesterol… LDL (bad cholesterol) is slightly high at 3.6 (should be below 3) Serum cholesterol is 5.4 (should be below 5) My overall ratio

Introduction and Strontium Ranelate
Hello, I thought I would introduce myself: I was on this forum a few years ago when the last of the NOS forums was closed, but then I lapsed reading posts and posting myself, so here I am again, at least for a while ! I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 17 years ago, this was on DEXA but also x-ray

Low Iron
Hi everyone, Wondered if anyone has had experience with SVT and low iron? I’ve just found out that I have extremely low iron stores which explains a lot of my symptoms, including a fast heart rate and wondering whether anyone knows whether it could cause atrial tachycardia? I am really hoping once

Know a provider who really gets it?
I have been a satisfied "customer" of Dr. Craig Liden and The Being Well Center in Gibsonia, PA for over 20 years. Before that, I saw a series of professionals who practiced within clouds of misinformation, and who had little to offer in the way of treatment. They said things like, "If Ritalin didn't

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold test results
Hi, I'm fairly new to this site & this is the first time I've posted. I had recurrent non-malignant cysts on my thyroid with no other apparent symptoms in around 2006. Initially the cysts were drained using needle aspiration. (At this time, one of the sonographers who was performing the needle aspiration

Burning feet and hands update, advice please.
Burning feet and hands update. Hi all, thank you so much for your really helpful replies. I managed to get an appointment with a GP who I hadn’t seen before and was disarmingly young. She looked at my recent bloods but I’m not sure she knew what she was looking at. I’m not totally sure how but she

Anaemia after TAVI
In July I had a successful TAVI with an excellent recovery - until early September, when I experienced fatigue. At first I put this down to the very hot weather here in England. At the end of October I had useful telephone chats with two cardiology nurses, who looked at my records and wondered if I

I need to get my Levothyroxine dose increased - I think !
Hello people, what a great forum - I have only now found the confidence to post here, and I really need some advice. I'd had hypothyroid symptoms and high TSH since the end of 2019 but wasn't diagnosed with hashimoto's until May 2023, when my antibody test showed high TPO . I was put on a starter dose

GCA and hair loss
Have been on pred now since end of July 2023 - originally 60mg now tapered to 20mg. (stay on 20mg for 2 weeks). Feel fine on that dose. Will taper to 18 mg in a week Mon. and stay on it for 2 weeks, etc. then down by l0% every 2 weeks if all holds. I am losing my hair. Will taking folic acid help?
