My 4 years old son was diagnosed with JIA in 2023. it’s a big change to our family. We’ve been through a lot of emotions. We have been doing a lot of research online and offline. so grateful that I found this website. My son is currently under Methotrexate. The doctor told us to inject 0.4 ml into his skin every week. Also prescribed folic acid for him taking every day. But when I saw an article says Folic acid should NOT be taking on the same day as the Methotrexate. I’m confused, because the doctor never mentioned about this. My question is what should I do? Does anyone know?

Hi our 5 yr old daughter has been on methotrexate now for two years along with folic acid. She has never had her folic acid the same day as her methotrexate. We were told the folic acid would counteract the methotrexate so no I would give him folic acid 6 days a week and not on the same day as the methotrexate. Hope this helps
Hi, have an another question, what's the dose of folic acid doctor prescribed for your daughter? the doctor prescribed 1mg daily for my son, but I did research, it's same dose for adults. kinda of concern.
