Diagnosed with cirrhosis
Today I found out I have stage 4 fibrosis which is cirrhosis. I quit drinking over 10 years ago, I've had weight loss surgery and lost over 5 stone which as reduced my fatty liver to practically zero. I don't have hepatitis or autoimmune liver disease, yet I still have cirrhosis. I'm only 41. I'm feeling

Anti-Malaria Drugs Treat PD?
I am in a new rabbit hole. Somebody over on FB posted that their dad with PD took Ivermectin every day for 8 months and his PD is gone. He is not on no drugs and no supplements. Like all of us, I am vulnerable to these type of grand claims. So I started investigating Ivermectin and PD and so far I

5 days post op from circumcision
I had my circumcision on Monday morning and was mostly pain free for the first few days, but the last few days the pain has increased. I had weight loss surgery and have a lot of loose skin in my pubic area so when I sit down it tends to ‘bury’ my penis a bit, I’ve noticed that the skin on my shaft rolls

Hi - I was diagnosed with normal tension glaucoma in my left eye about a month ago, after a routine eye test showed some field of

Another interesting insight from a doctor - this time Dr Nadir Ali at a “low carb down under” conference.
This doctor has realised that the medical profession needs to listen to its knowledgeable patients in order to make progress. Yay!! Here is his first slide. The last word - on the next slide - is “buggy whipped”. For anyone interested in the benefits of a low carb high fat diet, and the reasons why

Mindfulness
I have not written for here some time but I have had PMR for about 12 years. When I retired 10 years ago I was under a lot of stress and attended a mindfulness based stress reduction course for 8 weeks. This changed my life! (for the better!). More recently I have been looking at Mindfulness again

in 1 eye and increased pressure. I have been on latanoprost and timolol but consultant has now added brinzolomide but tells me if that does not help I need a trabulectomy.

A big thank you
No questions or moaning this time, my Endo has just agreed a T3 trial!!! I’m still trying to get through to him that my TSH is too high, quoting NICE and RMOC, but that’s another fight. Thank you all for the information and support, without you I would be a basket case!

Meds after spinal fusion
My fusion was 11 weeks ago and I still need an occasional dose of my prescription medication. I have heard that otc meds such as aleve and ibuprofen can interfere with bone grafting, so I have been avoiding them. Surgeon said the otc's were okay to take at this point but I would rather wait until I
