Hi and welcome,

Never too many questions, as I’ve just replied to another thread - have a look at this post for general overview of what may lie ahead -

..and also be aware of the FAQs we have - to be looked at in time, for specific things, don’t try and cram your brain with too much early days, there’s a lot to get your head around.

Always someone around to help…..

Try not to worry. Things will happen to you and you'll be on here asking. That's fine. Some things you can circumvent and others are inevitable. Stay positive and ask if you don't know. Read all you can and advocate from knowledge when speaking to GP's and Consultants. There's a wide range of awareness of our condition amongst them and they don't necessarily know everything we know and need educating sometimes. Good luck on your journey.

DorsetLady has given you the basics - start there. The rest will come later.

Weight gain is not inevitable when on pred - but you do have to do your bit. Cut your carbs drastically, especially processed carbs and added sugar. Don't go mad on fruit - healthy it may be but it has lots of sugar, lots of carbs.

And if you want to look things up - it isn't temple arthritis, it is temporal arteritis, arthritis is joints, arteritis is blood vessels, arteries in particular. Don't worry - even healthcare professionals get it mixed up.
