friend has shingles - advice please
hi, Can I have some advice please. my friend who is a beautician is scheduled to do a facial & nails for me tomorrow. I’ve had chicken pox and her Dr has said she shouldn’t pass it in because it’s on her bottom and she won’t be touching it so in that respect it’s in a good place. Any thoughts? Thank

Recovery from colds/flu whilst on Adalimumab
Hello,I was diagnosed with Crohn's 18 months ago and have been on Adalimumab for the last 12 months. In that time I have managed to avoid colds/flu until a couple of weeks ago. Have felt quite unwell and presently doesn't seem to be ending. My question is really to other people who have a reduced immune

dengue fever vaccinate or not?
I started off on 15mg Pred in October and am now down to 10mg. I am off to India (Rajasthan) in February and dengue fever vaccine has been suggested. As it is a live vaccine I am not sure whether having the vaccine is worth the risk of contracting dengue. Any advice? Also big thanks to the community

What cold med with Zoloft
Can anyone give me advice on what cold meds they use while on Zoloft? I have sinusitis and am used to taking Sudafed but just read that it may cause seratonin syndrome with Zoloft. What cold meds can I take with Zoloft? Thank you.

My PMR is basically gone, but now I got shingles on my right side of face.
All the drugs I took, take lowers my immune system. No prednisone anymore, but Methotrexate lowers immune response. About 4 days ago, got shingles on my face and forehead. It is super pain, bad pain. Before the shingles, I felt like my eyes were infected, eyes and skin all red and sore. Pain not quite

Hepatitis B and alcohol
I was wondering what are your views on alcohol use for people with hepatitis B. I am feeling a bit disappointed that my Dr never has discussed this with me. I try not to drink at most of the times. However, I would have a few drinks on special occasions, such as birthdays or holidays. Should I go tea

Methotrexate and sinus/nasal issues
I've been on MTX for a year now and over the months I keep saying I feel like I'm coming down with a cold but it doesn't happen. I get a blockage in the back of my nasal passage and that causes post nasal drip and a sore throat. I was taking sulphasalazine but have stopped that as I felt so tired on

Glandular Fever virus and PMR?
Hello everyone, Does anyone know if the Glandular Fever virus could be linked with PMR? I contracted GF and Hepatitis B of the Liver in 2005, it took me 3 years to get over it and live my life normally, I took no drugs, it really was a case of rest and gentle exercise, the Drs warned me if I didn't

Illness and taking T3 - something to consider?
just a thought I wanted to put out there and see what everyone else thinks… I am now prescribed T4 and T3 and it has been a bit of a life changer for me. Previous to the T3 being added, I was on mono T4 for years. To get out of bed and function, I had to have my T4 over range, whilst my T3 was scrapping

Shingles Vaccination
Hi folks, just been sent a link for the Shingles Vaccine, is this something anyone else has had. I wasn't aware that when taking Methotrexate this was possible. Unfortunately I can never get through to my surgery to ask the question. Thank you
