I use a pen dispenser for a medication called Victoza. That has a 32g 4mm needle attached, so I know I can deal with needles to some extent. I admit I'm scared of how far in we seem to have to go for B12. I'm not sure whether IM or SC would be best for me. Thanks in advance.

Is it at all possible to hit a capillary when injecting Victoza? My sister gave herself the shot and within 4 min she was dizzy, shaky, sweaty and vomited. Her blood sugar was very low too, all within minutes

I just started taking metformin again after a year of victoZa followed by 4 months of no medicine. I'm only up to 1500mg a day and I feel so exhausted. It's as if I took night time cold medicine during the day. I did fee this way in the beginning with the victoza but it didn't last as long.

But if it helped with some symptoms, such as increased agitation and poor sleep quality, others remained, the most bothersome being racing heart, profused sweating and sugar cravings that not even prescription drug Victoza could control.

I have been on Victoza for the past few months, but the side effects are pretty nasty and don't seem to be subsiding. The most bothersome one is nausea.

In the US it was first released as a Type 2 Diabetes treatment, Victoza. Now, double doses by injection are marketed for weight loss as Saxenda.

It seems it's basically the same as the drug Victoza used in patients with diabetes 2, but that Saxenda was specifically developed for weight loss. It's extremely expensive and not covered by health insurance, but available online.

My doctor started me on metformin 4 tabs a day and Victoza 1.8 a day. I have lost some weight and have been feeling great. So, at 6 months, they lowered the metformin dose to 2 tabs a day and kept Victoza the same. Still feeling great and a1c is great. So they just took my Victoza down to .6.
