Training on using defibrillators and CPR
I sometimes marshal on parkruns and competitions. Thankfully automatic defibrulatrors are becoming more common. Last time a competitor collapsed with angina like symptoms in front of me I had no idea of the protocol to follow (my dilemma was made worse by having a GTN spray with me). Has anyone had

Wide QRS interval
I saw a consultant last week as a follow-up to a bypass nearly six months ago and to discuss how I was getting on with bisoprolol after a switch from Sotalol. I haven’t had any AF since bisoprolol was increased to 10mg but I had some quite fast AF in December prior to that. I still get a lot of PVCs

Ablation to back wall of the heart
I just had a 3rd ablation at the Cleveland Clinic. My first two were PVI ablations, the reason for two was because my first was unfinished due to cardiac tamponade. I have had persistent afib since last Sept. 11th. On this current surgery they found problems on the back wall of the heart and also the

Hi everybody, I have posted this on the AF forum as it sits there because I am on an anticoagulant for afib. However, because I suffer from PMR and I am on prednisolone I thought maybe others may have my recent problem. My blood results have come back with ESR at 17 which I am told is within the normal

Two years post RF PVI
Just a quick up date. Two years from RF PVI. No Afib. No beta blockers. BP very good. PM has 8 years of life left, most energy used downloading daily data dump. Upon reflection should have gone ahead with ablation with first signs. Vivid dreams from beta blockers stopped. Took me longer than I thought

Pluvicto and babies in house
Has anyone had experience with pluvicto or other radiopharmaceuticals, with an infant in the household? My dad lives with us (including 3 month old) and is metastatic castration resistant. He has done 7 doses of docetaxel but last month his PSA increased again so I'm wondering and trying to prepare for

Just diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation
Hi I was diagnosed with A-fib a couple of weeks ago via an ECG trace on my Kardia mobile. I am now on Apixaban 5mgs twice daily and Atenelol and have been advised that an ablation is the best way forward. I only have had 3 episodes to my knowledge and so it paroxysmal but makes me feel pretty unwell

Premature ventricle contractions
For about two weeks my kardia ecg is showing PVC's most of the time, I don't know how reliable these gadgets are but tried to make appointment with GP, as they have taken ecgs before but receptionist said I should go to A&E but I feel fine and feel that would be a waste of A&E time. Anybody else have

short afib runs 3 months post ablation
Hello, I had my ablation Jan 27th, unfortunately I am still having short runs of afib at times and experienced significant migraine headaches postop so I’m not in a hurry to repeat the procedure. Has anyone had success after 3 months? My EP doesn’t think it will settle much further. Unfortunately I

Melatonin with AF medication
I’m on Flecainide , bisoprolol for AF plus Apixaban,. Melatonin is supposed to aid sleep , does anyone on the group have experience using melatonin with the above , the pharmacist I’ve spoken to said there shouldn’t be a problem but didn’t sound too reassuring.

Week 3 Post Ablation
21 days has passed since my Cryoablation. I have had 10 separate episodes of AFIB. Some just a couple of hours, sometimes 2 in one day. I understand that I am in blanking period. my question to the group, when an episode starts, what action do you take? Do you rest, do continue on with daily activities

Inhaler causing A Fib
Hi everyone, On Tuesday I had an episode of a fib. It lasted 16 hours. I take metoprolol Succinate Er 25mg. The next day after using one of my inhalers Incruse Ellipta I felt kinda off. My blood pressure was quite high 148/99. The next day the same thing happened. Today I woke up and my BP was still

Suitability for catheter ablation?
Hello I was diagnosed with AF a month ago. When asked, my GP told me that catheter ablation is not really done for Atrial Fibrillation. Since many of you on this forum, and elsewhere, have had a catheter ablation, I wonder whether there were any special circumstances that made the ablation appropriate

Decision time!
Would be grateful for your views on my afib journey. Was diagnosed last November with paroxysmal afib, 2.6% burden. Burden up to 6% (from 7 day monitor in March). Have reacted badly to both flecainide and bisoprolol - fatigue, faintness, short of breath. Have been advised to have an ablation. However
