I’m on Flecainide , bisoprolol for AF plus Apixaban,. Melatonin is supposed to aid sleep , does anyone on the group have experience using melatonin with the above , the pharmacist I’ve spoken to said there shouldn’t be a problem but didn’t sound too reassuring.

I am on exactly the same drugs as you, although now I only use Flecainide as a PiP. I occasionally take Melatonin and it has never had adverse effects on me. In fact I find it really effective, I hope it does the same for you.

I have now dropped bisoprolol after a successful ablation, but while still on it, the Professor that I was under at the London Hospital had no problem with me taking melatonin. I am still on apixaban.

Do your research Skipandted and consult with your doctor, not a pharmacist.

Melantonin is generally safe but a "possible", repeat "possible" side effect is interaction with anticoagulants to perhaps cause excessive bleeding. See above link.

I also read it should be taken in small amounts (2.5 to 3mg) and not taken for lengthy periods.

I decided not to take it. But do your own research, reconsult with your doctor.
