21 days has passed since my Cryoablation. I have had 10 separate episodes of AFIB. Some just a couple of hours, sometimes 2 in one day. I understand that I am in blanking period.
my question to the group, when an episode starts, what action do you take? Do you rest, do continue on with daily activities and try to function normally. I am struggling with this.
I know immediately when I go into AFIB. I just go to bed and try to sleep thru it. I may also take an additional 1/2 tablet of Metopolol , per instructions from my EP.
Also, I am taking 25 mg Metopolol, twice a day. Is that a lot in your opinion? I also take Multaq.

Hi there. Have you spoken with your doctor about the number of incidents? I would make him aware blanking. Or no. Unfortunately yes I did what you do. Just trying to ignore it but to be honest with you, I didn’t have any issues during my six months of relief from my cryo- which was my very first ablation. I was on the same regarding your meds and they worked until the cryo- did not. I had a loop recorder and received a call from my EP that I needed a second ablation ASAP. Unfortunately, at that time I guess I was used to the feeling, but that was before it got really bad. My second ablation was RF and lasted well over a year and it was a good year
I am still on Metropolol now, but I take one dose a day of 50 I recently had a pacemaker fitted. Eventually, I should be able to go off the metropolol b and only stay on my Xarelto. Best of luck, you sound as though we might be neighbors some white.😊🙏🏻
I too had quite a few episodes after my (first) cryoablation. Regarding what I did when I had them, well I simply carried on with life. I found that when I occupied my time with daily chores or whatever, it took my mind off it, as it seemed my "mind" kept a-fib episodes going. There's quite a connection there, especially when you fear the episode itself! You're in a very early stage of the blanking period. A call to your EP might be in order for peace of mind.
