Premature ventricle contractions

For about two weeks my kardia ecg is showing PVC's most of the time, I don't know how reliable these gadgets are but tried to make appointment with GP, as they have taken ecgs before but receptionist said I should go to A&E but I feel fine and feel that would be a waste of A&E time. Anybody else have these PVC's and should I be worried? I've been gardening all day today with no pain, or shortness of breath, I only get chest pain at night

Hi GothicKate

I’m sorry you’re not feeling quite well at the moment.

The thing with any type of device which claims to record our heart beats and perform ECGs is that these devices are always very sensitive. Although they are a good indication, which is what I use my Apple Watch for, they may sometimes be misleading.

I can understand why you might not want to go to A&E, I’ve had some not so great experiences there in the past, in addition to feeling like I’m wasting their time but it is probably the better thing to do. They can give you reassurance, as well as make sure that chest pain that you experience in the night is not of any major concern. So I agree with Yumz199725 , might be the safer option!

Let us know how you get on if you do choose to go in.

All the best.

Tos

Please please, phone 111 and follow their advice, you are not wasting anyones time and the pain in your chest needs urgent attention regardless of how and when it comes on.

A&E are totally geared for heart and chest problems they would rather it was something that could be sorted now than any more damage { if that's accruing } done.

Please look after yourself and take care.

Better safe than sorry... they'd rather see you now than in an urgent admission.
