Salumol
Thanks to all who replied to my recent post about the switch from Ventolin. Seems inhaler technique is all important so will watch that. With regard to the environment, 2 years ago we made a diet change only meat we eat is chicken, no more than twice a week, the least polluting of all meats to produce

Salamol
At the instigation of my GP practice I have been moved from salbutamol ( usually supplied as trade named Ventolin)reliever to salamol on the grounds that it is cfc free, it states it on the box. I thought all aerosols were cfc free since about the 1990’s when the hole in the ozone layer was discovered

New Inhalers
Last month I couldn't breathe - ended up in hospital for 11 days! I was diagnosed with COPD 7 years ago & had a lung wedge for cancer 6 years ago. Now have had x-ray, CT & PET scan - my inhaler was changed from Ultibrow to Anoro - & I now have Easyinhaler instead of ventolin. Also put me on Carbocisteine

Congestion
I have Bronchiectasis and Asthma, over the past month or so I am continually congested with unpleasant mucus. I had a few days of, for me, severe asthma, which was sorted out with a short course of prednisolone. I just cannot seem to get rid of the congestion, keeping me awake at night and I am so

Does Ventolin need spacer?
I use spacer for Flixotide, 2 Puffs bid, rarely have to use Ventolin now but did today without. Wondered if I should use spacer which would have traces of Preventer still in it? I wash as per instructions which say don't rinse all detergent out as this helps delivery- but surely makes drug stick to sides

Absolute newbie!
I’m starting C25k (with my very reluctant husband!) and I’m a bit nervous! I have osteoarthritis in my knees and I’m mildly asthmatic (use Ventolin inhaler very occasionally!) I cannot imagine being able to run (I walk a lot) how difficult has it been for people-honestly??! 🫣😁

Inhalers.......
Not sure if anyone can help. My 84 year old husband has bronchiestatis and maybe other lung conditions. He also has Acid Reflux and this can result in lung infections if the food gets into his lungs - the specialist told him this. However he has now decided NOT to use the spacer but to squirt the Fortistair

Flying with Bronchiectasis ?
Please can you tell me about your experience flying with Bronchiectasis? I have looked online and the advice is very confusing. I was diagnosed with mild Bronch and possibly asthma last year. I currently have 2 inhalers ( Ventolin and Fostaire) and I am taking Azithromycin 3 days a week. I would

Chest Clinic
My GP/ Asthma Nurse has referred me to the Chest Clinic at the hospital because my scores at my last asthma check-up were pretty low, and I've got my appointment on Wednesday, but I'm not sure what I should mention. I get frequent flare-ups and chest infections- flare-ups probably between every 4-6 weeks

The dreaded Bisoprolol strikes again
Hi all, in a week or so I am going to be writing a saga but I’m saving it. In the meantime, just need your reactions to this. I went to my GP with a bowel problem combined with AF, certain they were linked and mentioned a couple of ‘elephant sat on my chest’ episodes, feeling they were probably linked

Anyone else have Eosinophilic Asthma with chronic rhinosinusitis?
Shortly after my 5th stomach operation (4 failed for acid reflux) I was told I had Bronchiectasis along with mild asthma this was after being taken to hospital as could not breathe and blue ventolin did not work. This diagnosis eventually changed to Eosinophilic Asthma under my Respiratory Dept

Change in weather affecting asthma
Hello, I just wanted some reassurance that I am not the only one feeling like this. After many hot days, it finally rained last night (I live in Scotland). I woke up to a very humid air this morning and feeling breathless. I opened the windows for more than an hour to freshen up the air in my flat,

Good News!
After a week waiting in various Specialist's rooms-I have good news. Cardio has cleared me and said there are only minor changes in heart valve and not enough to need surgery. He said it's rare but not uncommon, to develop Asthma this late in life and as the steroid spray and Ventolin help with the

Changing from prednisone to Midazolam
from approx 1973 until 2015 I had very mild asthma. Come Feb 2015 following a major neck operation it started getting worse. approx April 2015 the respiratory clinic thought I may have copd. This was confirmed later that year. My asthma is now classed as severe along with the COPD. I also have Restless

adult onset asthma
I started wheezing in December while out walking particularly going uphill. But recently been having a tighter chest and waking up coughing. Has anyone else had it developed like this? Been prescribed Ventolin and started a preventer recently.
