My symptoms was coughing up lots of yellowish mucus and congested for over a week. I thought I had some type of respiratory lung infection like bronchitis or virus etc... I went to my doctor and ordered a x-ray, and he said that " I didn't have any type of infection. I didn't know that x-ray can diagnose

Inflammation
I was diagnosed asthmatic last year after very severe double pneumonia and sepsis. I don’t know much about asthma. Is it normal to feel your airways are inflamed? For me this is the first sign that my asthma is flaring up. But after a recent flare I mentioned it to a locum g.p. and he asked how I knew

Supplements that help my asthma
Hi All. I have had asthma for about 18 years now. It started out very mild and has progressively gotten worse over the years. I have had several trips to the ER but only one hospitalization over these 18 years. I write this to you because doctors will constantly throw medicines at you but never talk

Hello everyone I'm new here. On steroids for flare up not sure why but side effects are terrible this time. Do others find there reaction to
prednisolone different each time? Well, lets start at the beginning shall we. I was diagnosed with late onset asthma when I was 28 (now 55) during my pregnancy with my daughter, quite common apparently. The doc's first thought was a chest infection and I had several courses of antibiotics before they

Asthma beaten! Running again after 4 weeks off!
I managed to get a bronchial-sinusitis virus which left me with severe asthma & a course of fairly vile steroids (although they worked a treat!) all of which led to no running for a whole month! I would've gone crazy were it not for this forum. I've been enjoying reading about everyone's running adventures

Not sure if I have asthma or not?
Hi all, I've been to see various chest specialists over the years and have been on inhaled steroids over the past 10 years or so. When I was a child I was awakened in the night by profound breathlessness. This reoccurred on various occasions. I consulted my GP who measured my peak flow which I understand

Just been told that Drs will no longer be prescribing Ventolin
Hi there, Just joined today after going for my flu jag, and being told by the practise nurse, who is also my asthma nurse that they have been told to stop prescribing Ventolin as it is no longer effective and as I only use ventolin that if I have an asthma attack it won't do anything. Just wondering

Pneumonia etc. 😢
Hi everyone. A week ago yesterday, I had to go to A and E with a hugely 🤒 high fever (my innacurate thermometer measured it at 42.7 which I looked up and should have been nearly dead if it really had been that high!) Anyway, was treated by the NHS amazingly quickly and was told I had a severe infection

Fostair with a spacer
Hi I currently take one spray of fostair 100 and one spray of fostair 200 once at night. I was taking 2 sprays of fostair 200 but I wanted to cut my steroid use down. I hope to eventually cut it down 2 sprays of the 100. I take nothing during the day. This has suited me just fine and the only reason

Expired ventolin inhaler ok to use?
Hi everyone, I’m new here - will give a brief history.... I was diagnosed with asthma when I was about 18, was quite severe and ended up in hospital quite a few times before getting it under control. Gradually took less and less medication as it hasn’t been bothering me at all (except occasionally when
