Fat fingers!

Hi

I'm treating myself with NDT. I've steadily increased my dose & I've been on 2 1/2 grains of Thyroid S a day since the beginning of November. I have a Better You B12 spray that I have 3 sprays of each day. I also have asthma that I use both a ventolin & beconase inhalers for.

I've found that the past week or so I have been unable to get my rings on in a morning (I haven't tried any other time) but is this something I should be worried about? Am I lacking in something or is it due to the increase in NDT?

Any help/advice gratefully received.

Justliloldme,

How much Levothyroxine were you taking before you switched to NDT?

I've never been on Levo Clutter.

I went straight onto NDT due to lack of support (& knowledge) from GP.

Justliloldme,

You weren't overmedicated on 2 grains 5 months ago and I doubt an additional 1/2 grain will have overmedicated you so I doubt it is related to thyroid. Perhaps you are retaining water?

That's good to know, thanks for your help Clutter.

I was feeling a little under medicated so I increased my dose by 1/4 about a month ago & I'm feeling fine so just wanted to check that this problems wasn't related. It's so easy to fall into the trap of blaming everything on our thyroids!

Thanks again!

Justliloldme,

So, are you taking 2.5 or 2.75 grains?

I was on 2 grains in March 2017, increased to 2.25 in September & again to 2.5 at the beginning of November. I feel much better with the extra .25.

Justliloldme,

Hard to see that extra 1/2 grain will have overmedicated you but you should have a thyroid test in mid-Dec to check.

Great, thank you for the advice :-)

I was taking Thyroid s for 18 months and finished with three grains per day. Although my latest blood test showed that my FT3 was 1/3rd over the top range I never had any bloating of any kind, or increase in weight. It could be something else. Three grains is quite a high dose it could be that.
