Does the body get used to ventolin ?
Hi! I've had a horrible time with my asthma during the past 4 months and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be getting any better right now. As a result of this, I've started to take more puffs of ventoline (sometimes more than 10 in one day!) otherwise I couldn't do anything. However, I noticed that

does the hot weather effect your asthma?
so i have been given some antibiotics as i have a slight rattle on my chest and some prednisilone for a week and they have upped my symbicort. my peak flow right now average is 610 but my throat feels a bit tight, it is warm today though i am always reluctant to use my ventolin because of my anxiety,

Should I worry?
My SATS were 88%, should I worry or is that normal when you're having symptoms? It went up to 90% and then 96% after ventolin.

Am I at risk of an attack?
Here's a overview of my relationship with the condition. I've had Asthma since a early age. I was hospitalised about 4 years of age and had to have a nebuliser then, but not anything serious like that ever since. I've recently got a spacer and I'm taking Ventolin and a 125 dose of Seritide 2 puffs, twice

Failed by asthma care
It’s been a while since I have posted on here as I’ve been trying to muddle along but after a really tough week with my asthma and trying to get the care I need, I felt I needed to post. I did an event with work last week and on the Wednesday my chest felt tight but I cleared it myself with my Ventolin

Inhaler ventolin prescription
Am I being unreasonable? Recently renewed my ventolin prescription as my previous 2 have expired. I don’t need to use them most days but carry them with me as a precaution. However they have prescribed me with one (requested 2). I would feel better - especially abroad if I had another as I instantly

Breathlessness and Bronchiectasis
I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis a year ago after endless coughing with mucus production. Following the CT scan the consultant prescribed carbocisteine and montelukast. I have also been asthmatic since childhood and using the usual inhalers. I saw the consultant for the second time a couple of weeks

Ventolin Inhaler -Alternative
Good evening everyone, I have taken my Ventolin Inhaler for many years of me having COPD and Bronchiectasis, I am now stage 4 COPD and awaiting a lung transplant. Although I have to regularly take lots of medication daily as well as nebulisers I have noticed that my Ventolin Inhaler doesn’t seem to work

Hi I have chronic hay fever and I use a ventolin pump for about 2 weeks mid summer . I’m feeling very dizzy when I use it more than usual . I was told MTX would be ok . Feeling fed up of being ill all the time #

Feeling ticked off
Hi All....I’m still fairly new to this but over the last month what I thought was hay fever morphed into a cold. I have Bronchiectasis, diagnosed a year ago, and colds now linger for weeks. I started wheezing and panicked it was a chest infection but GP said it was viral and to keep an eye on it. He

Cough not wheeze
After 10 days of using too much ventolin ie every 2 hours, constant coughing and sleeping upright in a chair culminating in a very bad weekend I ventured to the doctor's. Why didn't I go to A and E as my husband wanted, well the doctor on my last visit said it can't be asthma as no wheeze, I felt like

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I had asthma as a child for years and it magically disappeared when I reached my teens. It came back with a vengeance in my late 20s and I started to experience my first ever attacks. Unfortunately my asthma has never behaved in the standard way. I

Asthma & Acid Reflux,
Has anyone suffering acid reflux and asthma read the book The acid watchers diet and found their asthma and/or reflux has improved. Are presently going down this track as my previously controlled asthma (one ventolin a year required when having a chest infection) to now (past 3 yrs) being on Symbicort

Unstable peak flow
So on day 6 out of 20 days of various tapering steroids. I’m taking regular ventolin thoughout the day and night. I keep on getting my peak flow up to 380/400 but then keeps on dropping 250/280 and can’t get it to stay up. I’m due at the chest clinic on Thursday afternoon so trying to hold out for

Any pearls of wisdom
After being discharged from consultant care and was deem unneccessary for me, my asthma as got worse again. Short history of Most of April into May with 3/4 courses of 5 days of prednsiolone stopped and started again and then weaned off. On last day of prednisolone had to go back on again due to breathing
