Any pearls of wisdom

After being discharged from consultant care and was deem unneccessary for me, my asthma as got worse again.

Short history of Most of April into May with 3/4 courses of 5 days of prednsiolone stopped and started again and then weaned off. On last day of prednisolone had to go back on again due to breathing in too much disinfectant. I did 5 days and finished last Wednesday only to find myself back on it again on Thursday night as Asthma flare up (tight right chest) and no sure of trigger this time thought I had a cold but not sure. On last day of tablets but having to still do Ventolin every 4 hours (10) haven't been able to stretch it out. Allergy confirmed to house dust mite. I tried to make my bedroom as dust free and pollen free as possible.

Last week spoke to doctor at the end of first 5 days course and was reluctant to refer me back to consultant as wait is long. I did tell via receptionist that I was taking another course of prednisolone started last Thursday. However just though could request to go to hot clinic (will be seen in 48 hours if doctor requests it. I have telephone consultation on Wednesday with same GP so that helpful.

Currently taking Fostair 200/6 2 puffs twice a day, monkelaust, dymastia nasal spray, prescribed hay fever tablets.

Any pearls of wisdom as a full nights sleep has become a distance memory. I still working but doing supply work so can pick and chose hours. This week no working more than 5 hours per day.

Thoughts?!

My son developed a dust mite allergy a couple of years ago. He ended up getting rid of carpets, buying antidust mite bedding and using an air filter. This all helped enormously, but it took him time to do and of course it costs. I would certainly recommend an air filter in your bedroom so that the air you breathe is as clean as possible. (mine cost about £70 but there are lost of different types around). Make sure you get one which filters out dust mite and has a hepa filter. They usually need changing once every six months - get someone else to do this if possible. Same with hoovering and damp dusting. See if someone would help you with this. It can be hard to make the changes. Can your doctor refer you to an allergy consultant? Allergy UK have a helpline and you can talk to someone about coping with that.

I have an air filter and am drying my clothes indoors. I will ask my husband to get rid of the things which are dust magnets in our bedroom. We have a laminate flooring. I encased the mattress in a dustmite proof cover, washed my bedding at 60c plus pillows are washed and wrap up too.

I shower every night before going to bed.
