Swollen/closing throat question
Hi, I wanted some advice from other asthma sufferers. My asthma has recently returned and not particularly under control, mainly due to hayfever. I had a 5 day course of prednisolone 2 weeks ago. Today my throat really felt like it was closing and my cough got a lot worse. I feel like I have stuff on

I am new here. I suffer with severe asthma and I am on the UK government's list of 1.5 million vulnerable people for severe corona virus complications due to my severe asthma. I take fostair 200 / 6 2 puffs x 2 day, with Spiriva 2.5 mcg, singlular, and Ventolin. This spring my asthma has not been well

Ultrabreathe
After reading a few posts regarding breatheing exercise aids I recently purchased altrabreathe to see if this could help me. My asthma consists of forstair inhaler morning and night and I basically live on my blue ventolin inhaler day and night.. After 4 days of the ultrabreathe I'm amazed that I'm

I know a lot of us are afraid or nervous to go to A &E at the moment if our asthma flares up badly. I was a bit apprehensive to go myself last Monday night. This is my story of what happen to me. Last Monday night my neighbour( know for his big bonfires on Bonfire night) set alight a big bonfire just

For those who can exercise...
I was wondering if my asthma will improve the more in shape I am? I have severe persistent and I am seriously thinking of dusting off my Beach Body workout program Insanity. My gym has closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and I have made a workout space in my basement. I am not in the best of shape

Low temperature, asthmatic probably recovering from Covid
I'm sick for 5 weeks, probably from covid. Had 2 weeks of high temps 37.7 - 38 and over. Then a week of normal, but the last 10 days I'm finding it really hard to keep my temperature over 35. I've had all the covid symptoms and am still breathless, very pale and feeling tight all time time. Take montelukast

Ventolin cases - any tips?
Has anyone ever bought a new case for their Ventolin inhaler? If so, where from? Getting fed up of how the sharp edges dig in to my leg when it's in my pocket!

Very worried and in fear
How do I know if it’s silent reflux/ heartburn/panic attack or the darn “thing”. Unwell and funky things happening since mid March. I’m now on anti biotics as sore throat and inner ears and precautionary in case it’s strep (1st dose has made me feel sick and acidy). Friday changed my lanzoprazole for

Should I be shielding ?
Hi everyone 👋 So I have had asthma since I was about 3. The last three years my asthma has gotten worse. In 2016 I has a nasty pneumonia that developed and was hospitalised for 5 days and spent weeks off of work recovering. It took me about a year to feel someone normal and I've been hospitalised once

Don’t know what to do anymore 😢
Hello all, I will try to keep my post short(ish) but basically, I used to work away from home and progressively, certain aspects of my health deteriorated in the final year. Eyesight went extremely bad, weight gain, allergies and ENT issues but the worst was a cough and coughing fits and chest tightness

Lifelong asthmatic
Hi, I'm a lifelong asthmatic and until fairly recently didn't realise that my asthma is severe. It also seems that I probably have bronchiectasis - diagnosis incomplete due to the advent of coronavirus. What I don't understand is why some medical people are not concerned about when my peak flow drops

Croaky voice with bronchiectasis?
Have mild-to-middling Bronchiectasis, shows as recurrent chest infections, some reduction in breathing capacity, tiredness, etc., but only rarely producing any sputum. (Similar to when I had TB, almost 60 years ago). Living in rural area, nearest consultants are not Bronchiectasis specialists. GP prescribed

Hi ,happy Easter to all if that is possible under the circumstances, I am asking us bronc how ventolin works for them ,as I find it does nothing for me,I am wondering is this is because the mucus on my chest stops it getting to the places it should. Fostair - headaches?
Hi ya, I normally get asthma associated with the hay fever season. This year is extremely bad and was prescribed fostair instead of Clenil to be used with Ventolin. I’ve been using Fostair for 3 days and have experienced a bad headache for most of that time, also tight chested a lot of the time and using

How to see a specialist?
Hi, My name is Angela. I'm from Peru, basically I've moved to UK a year and a half ago. I was diagnosing with asthma when I was 2 years old. After my teens my asthma seemed to have disappeared I don't remember having a problem for many years, how ever I'm 26 and last December I've started again with

Vulnerable or not?
Hi I'm new to this but could really do with some advice. I have been told in the past that I have chronic asthma, i dont know if this is the same as severe. Many of you seem to be worse than me, so I'm not sure maybe I dont. From the age of 12, had numerous attacks over the first 15 years or so including
