How to see a specialist?
Hi, My name is Angela. I'm from Peru, basically I've moved to UK a year and a half ago. I was diagnosing with asthma when I was 2 years old. After my teens my asthma seemed to have disappeared I don't remember having a problem for many years, how ever I'm 26 and last December I've started again with

Vulnerable or not?
Hi I'm new to this but could really do with some advice. I have been told in the past that I have chronic asthma, i dont know if this is the same as severe. Many of you seem to be worse than me, so I'm not sure maybe I dont. From the age of 12, had numerous attacks over the first 15 years or so including

Opinions on the use of an Oxygen Concentrator
In a desperate bid to help my mother recover from her last incarceration in ICU over Christmas and New Year, and avoid what could well be her last exacerbation, I purchased a low-cost oxygen concentrator. In terms of immediate relief, the results, in terms of quality of life, have been nothing short

Does anyone take anything such as Mucinex ( Guaifenesin)
Just wondering if anyone takes anything like the above. If so do you find it helpful? I’m fine during the day, easier obviously to clear. I’m on Braltus and Ventolin but frequently suffer disturbed sleep because of the need to “cough up “ and clear my airways. My thinking is the above will water down

Any advice on managing asthma
I contracted Covid19 and it’s triggered my asthma which I haven’t had for nearly 18 years. Doctor has prescribed ventolin and steroid inhalers which I have been on for three days now plus antibiotics but only seen a slight improvement in my breathlessness. Does it normally take longer than this to see

As earlier this evening obviously with things they are (husband going through some extreme stressful work times and macho mum (or dad for those of you also reading!) taking husband

PLEASE try not call GP's - Use the surgery website
Many people have not received a shielding letter and are confused whether or not they should be as think they should. If you are not on regular steroid tablets OR have not had regular admissions to hospital you will NOT be getting the NHS letter. The Asthma UK guidance is clear on this it says you have

I am new to Asthma
New to these boards too. I was diagnosed four years ago. Am on Zenhale (Dulara), Ventolin, and Singulair. In the first month of diagnosis, I was seen by a pulmonologist, but he since moved away. He never gave me an action plan, so I figure I don’t need one? Anyway, I work at a local hospital in the ER

My Asthma isn't controlled of recent. I am confused
I feel shortness of breath. My seretide and ventolin inhaler aren't suppressing my symptoms as it will on a normal day. I can't go out as a result of covid 19, does anyone else knows what can suppress it? I am based in Nigeria

Symbicort 200
I was given this in January when my asthma was quite bad following a cold. I had 2 puffs morning and night. After a while it was reduced to 1 puff morning and night and I have been great, only using my Ventolin a couple of times in all that time. Over the past week or so my asthma has got worse again

Flutiform Inhaler
Hello, I am struggling with my DuoResp Spiromax inhaler in that it does not control my asthma and find I keep needing to use my Ventolin inhaler. I am currently on 3 puffs twice a day so is a higish dose. I spoke to an Asthma UK nurse who was most helpful and said that it may be better to try a PDI inhaler

Help about I need to social distance or shield
I have asthma and take Fostair 100/6 two puffs twice a day, ventolin as needed and montelukast at night. Is this classed as being vulnerable and having to stay in for the 12 weeks.

Mild asthma sufferers ..
Hi, I am a mild asthma sufferer usually only needing to take my blue ventolin inhaler occasionally (pollen, dust, cats, exercise etc ) and was confused as to whether I should start taking my brown steroid inhaler at this time. After reading forums I did so and have been doing for the last two weeks.

I'm back! 😊
I don't suppose many missed me but nevermind! You may know I have been poorly with my chest for a long time now....and it's very scary in the current climate let me tell you! Because I now take steroid inhalers and ventolin, despite still not having a diagnosis, I'm at home, socially distancing myself
