Why is exercise feeling difficult?
Hello. I am having some exercise issues and wondered if anyone had had anything similar? I was diagnosed with asthma approx. 6 years ago although looking back I had had symptoms for many many years before. I have always been a runner (picture a plodder rather than a speed demon) and have run all sorts

What I wish I had known (and what I have learnt through trial and error!)
Hi everyone Another repost from a couple years ago (and bought it up 8 months ago too apparently) so apologies if you’ve already read it 😉😂. But it’s another thing that those new to asthma may find helpful, and if anyone has anything they want to add just tag in! (I think this is the last for a while

What I wish I had asked my GP/asthma nurse (when first diagnosed 😉)
Hi everyone This is a repost of one of my posts from over 2 years ago 😱😱😂, but I thought it would be useful to update it, and repost it to anyone new to the forum and to asthma in general! A few years ago I read an article about shared appts with GPs ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45770998 ), and

Phone review
Had my copd phone review with the GP nurse ... I scored 0 on the charts but she then asked had I considered taking anoro rather than spiriva respimat. Why fix something when it's not broke and try to change you from one thing to another.. its beyond me I told her I didn't like a powder inhaler but she

Increasing intolerance to steroid inhalers
I seem to be having an increasing intolerance to preventer inhalers. My asthma nurse in unhappy as I do have to take my Ventolin several times a day, although for me, as I've had asthma since I was about 5, it doesn't bother me. Anyway, I take a Montelukast tablet every night (no problem). I'm tried

Finding a better GP
Ive always had reservations about my GP but this last few weeks have been a total joke. Had an asthma flare first treated with 5 day pred, wouldnt give antibiotics despite me always ending up with secondary infection but out of hours prescribed a few days later. Thanks to the infection i needed a longer

Just diagnosed with asthma.33y old female.Taking prednisone, duoneb (ipratropium bromide and albuterol), advair hfa, ventolin, montelukast.
Hi all, I have been diagnosed with asthma 3 weeks ago as a consequence of viral infection. I was started on symbicort. But my reaction was bad with a lot of yawning and difficulty breathing in first 3-4 h after inhaling. I went to pulmonary doc. And I was started with Montelukast, duoneb nebulizer 4xday

Advice welcome
Hi This is a long post... So back at the end of March, just as I had started to shield, I had an awful asthma attack, along with an insane temperature, I was shaking violently as I was so cold yet my temperature was at 41 by the time I was rushed to hospital. I spent the weekend in, they thought I

Coping not cured!
Good Morning everyone - every day I read these posts and very often I find them so concerning! I was diagnosed at 20 with asthma but it took me years to accept. For a very long time I was always too embarrassed to use my inhaler in a public area andmong friends! This resulted in many trips to A&E. A few

What is your weirdest trigger or your funniest location of attack?
Hi everyone Thought I’d do another post to hopefully make us laugh at our lungs!... what is the weirdest trigger you’ve found, or the funniest place your lungs decided to kick off? My funniest place was on a high wire course. Had to get permission to keep pump in pocket, and boy was I glad I did 😅!

Post Covid Asthma won't settle
Hi, this is going to be a long one. I came down with suspected Covid at the end of March. Previous to this my asthma was well controlled on fostair 4 x 100/6, ventolin as needed (once a month or less), dymista and cetirazine. I've been on this lot for about 7 years with the occasional issue after respiratory

6 months post Ablation
Hi all, hope you're all coping well in the lock down. It's 10 weeks for me now since I've left the house and garden and definitely feeling the need to get out. After a few months of taking it easy I've started to put a bit of work in on the garden that has involved a fair bit of manual effort. My episodes

Fostair dose
What dose of Fostair 100/6 do most people take. I take one puff am and one puff pm . I supplement with Ventolin if I’m a bit chesty. A friend who is a nurse says I can use the Fostair two puffs twice a day if I find that better than using the Ventolin as 2 puffs twice a day is normal dose. I don’t

Bad asthma flare-up - looking for advice
Hi everyone, I've been having a scary time of it recently. I've had several asthma attacks this week (pretty bad ones, I think) and I'm now on prednisone to try and get things under control (my first dose was this morning). My chest is pretty tight currently, but no attack today, thankfully. I'm pretty
