Nasal drops

Anyone used flixonase nasal drops? On these to try to help hay fever symptoms, as it has floored my asthma.

Still on Omalizumab, fostair, qvar, fexodenadine, montelukast, ventolin, antihistamine nasal spray, Carboceistibe (sp), nasal wash out etc. and still having regular flare ups since January. Why doesn’t anything seem to work!!

Yep they’re very effective

Yup. They work well for me (even if it tastes worse and is more difficult to apply 😅😂)

Another vote for the flixonase nasal drops here! (And I agree with EmmaF91 - they are a faff and taste a bit gross, but oh so worth it when struggling)

I am on the Betnesol 0.1% v/w nasal drops in addition to beconase nasal spray, fexofenadine, seretide 250 and ventolin. I also use sterimar to nasal rinse. It's the best rinse I have used due to the nozzle and pressurised canister makes it easy to use. The beconase nasal spray is so much easier to administer than the drops but I can't believe the difference it has made. Only been on beconase, fexofenadine and betnesol for a couple of months but I have seen huge improvements. I have nasal polyps and permanent nasal congestion and post nasal drip for years after an unsuccessful functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) for allergic type nasal polyps. I got particularly worse this March. Pandemic made it really difficult to get my GP to take me seriously but eventually they started me on new antihistamine and the nasal spray/drops. I can breath through my nose for the first time in over a year, I still occasionally phantom smell burning but at random intervals I can now smell things (a little) -first time in over 3 years.

I don't wake up gasping for air anymore or having to try sleeping upright in a chair and my sleep quality is vastly improved and lying down only propped up a little. So pain in the a*** to dropper in but oh so worth it for me personally.

Unrelated to asthma I take vitamin D, ferrous fumerate and levothyroxine to manage other deficiencies.

I get the phantom smell of burning too! I thought it was just me. Being aspirin sensitive I have to look after my nasal system so as to avoid polyps. I too am on Vit D, Ferrous Fumerate and Levothyroxine. I've also started to treat any sign of a dry or sore throat with zonc/Vit C lozenges - TV Dr Moseley recommended zinc lozenges in response to the pandemic. I got mine from Holland & Barrett.

yes i used to be on the nasal drops but found that they were going down my throat and irrating so they were stopped.

Try beclometasone nasal spray i use it and it seems to help but instead of sniffing up when you trigger it . Was told to point to side of your nose towards your ear and squirt and it seems to help.

I lie with me head over the bed & that helps me get them to where they need to go!
