Warmer...better...happier me!
Having seen the temperature difference between this afternoon and tomorrow morning, I decided to run at17.30 today instead of 7am tomorrow! I know it means that technically I ran two consecutive days, but it was almost two given the times of the runs! Not something I'll make a habit of, but I'm really

Why aren't my meds working?
Hi all, I'd need a bit of help as I'm not sure what's going on... I've been diagnosed with asthma bronchiale when I was 3. It was mild/moderate then totally went when I was about 14ish. I then moved to the UK (I'm Hungarian) when I was 27. I'm now 40, and recently my asthma is difficult. I'm on Fostair

What next?
Hi all, Hope you are well in this COVID craziness. I have an appt with the Asthma clinic today. Ive has a terrible spring & summer; 5 rounds of steroids, using my nebuliser more than I ever have, averaging about 6-10 ventolin a week minimum. I tried uniphyllin but it made me horribly sick. My Oxygen

The asthma specialist at my surgery prescribed me the above since Feb on the mart regimen. Usually I stop taking the inhaler was previously on becotide and ventolin in the summer. Due to covid 19 I did not stop and continue to take it. I agree to change to fostair nexthaler as he gave me the impression

Much more wheezing over the past month
I've had well controlled asthma pretty much all my life. However the past month or so I've been getting a lot more wheezing and having to take my ventolin much more often (pretty much once a day, whereas it used to be about once a week). I had my annual asthma review (by phone this time for obvious reasons

Not sure who to believe at this point.
Hello everyone, hope you're having a splendid day, feeling healthy, and staying safe. I made a post on this forum 3 months ago and the responses I got were very positive and made me hopeful that I'm not alone in this mess. I was "diagnosed" with asthma three months ago and prescribed a corticosteroid

Oblivious to symptoms?
Hi all. Does anyone else have symptoms that just pass them by? I've just had my first (phone) consultation with a new hospital clinic. Dr asked about my asthma symptoms, and I couldn't really answer - and realised afterwards that's probably because I've never been very good at noticing when I have symptoms

Copd diagnosis 5 years ago now diagnosed with asthma as well
Hi everybody, just reaching out to see if anyone has any information that may be of help to me. I was diagnosed with COPD in 2015 and have been managing fine till this year. I was put on the shielding list as I also have other co morbidities that according to NICE means my COPD is classed as severe.

Retired to Malta
I retired permanently to Malta with my husband in 2018. We know the island well because I inherited 2 flats in St Paul's Bay in 1972. Anyway when I left my cough was bad (I also suffer from Bronchiectasis), waking up every night reliably at 3:00. Every couple of months I seemed to get a bad cold. I

what to do if you forget your emergency inhaler
so it's happened, I got to work 2 hours ago and realized I forgot my inhaler. I never leave the house without one but I was in a rush and it slipped my mind. unfortunately I work on an island and take a ferry to work so going home to get it isn't an option. I already don't feel great, I'm irritable,

Any ideas
I have asthma and have been on anti optics every other week for 20months. Also frequent courses of steroids. I have just been diagnosed with bronchiostasis in lower lobe of left lung. It is infective at the moment so on double dose of antibiotics. I am not sure now which one is making me breathless

Asthma flare up since January
I am a 38 year old lady, I have had severe asthma since childhood, had a Respirtory arrest at 14. My regular meds are seretide 250, montelukast, spiriva, ventolin. Asthma has been well controlled until January this year when my asthma flared up and stopped me from to doing day to day activities, my peak

Adrenal insufficiency: a general information post (does not replace medical advice)
Hi all - I just wrote an absolute essay in response to a question about adrenal insufficiency (AI from now on in this post) from steroids. Since this is a question that may crop up periodically (I know I've answered it before), I thought I would copy it here for general information, and to link to in

New to asthma - Rocket launcher approach?
Hi all, I’m newly diagnosed (peak flow meter that I used and submitted data). Had my first asthma appointment over the phone yesterday. I’m 29 and have never been diagnosed before now/ felt that I struggle to breathe. The only thing is when I run in the cold my throat completely closes up and I’m

Coming off Qvar?
I realise this isn't the best place to ask about coming off a steroid inhaler, but I don't know where else to go other than my GPs' and it's quite hard to get through to them. I'm post-viral since March; maybe Covid, maybe not as it was too early for testing. The breathlessness and wheeze has just persisted
