Why is my breathing suddenly so bad?
I have had asthma for years but although I admit I generally haven't taken my preventer regularly I have felt very comfortable. Suddenly my symptoms have become severe. No cough, just tight and unable to breathe easily. When it first started it was terrifying as my chest, diaphragm and ribs felt exhausted

Advice?
Hey guys, I haven't posted here in a long time so I hope everyone is doing well. I've had asthma since I was 13 and I'm 21 now. For the most part I manage my symptoms quite well but these last few days have been rough. I've noticed that my nose has been extra runny and I'm pretty sure I've developed

Another attack
Feeling somewhat annoyed. My asthma just isn’t settling down. Now on another course of prednisolone for seven days. . Seem to be needing that every 6 to 8 weeks. I’m under the care of a respiratory consultant. And still have a barrage of test to be done. If been walking as much as I can but have

Trimbow v Braltus
I've been lurking a while, my wife has COPD and T1 diabetes for 50+ years. Also a lifetime smoker. Paradoxically, the COPD has worsened considerably in the year since she stopped. After recent exchange with her GP we switched from Braltus to Trimbow and the improvement in frequency and severity of flare

So I'm waiting for an ambulance but never been to hospital before - what to expect?
So I've been on 30 mg of pred for a month and the last few days have been bad again. GP suspects a chest infection on top and added antibiotics but it's 3 days later and I'm still needing Ventolin every couple of hours. I've called 111 and they are sending an ambulance, but I've never been hospitalised

COPD... Pulmicort/Symbicort for out of breath issues only?
Hi All, I think after trying a few different inhalers, I may try pulmicort or symbicort as this doesn't seem to cause people issues? If possible I'm fine with ventolin as I know that, so may just get the budesonide on its own (pulmicort?) rather then get symbicort as thats got formoteral in, which

Hi All, I tried Spiriva and had fast heart beat, so had to come off it. I've tried a few steroids and not worked too well raised my anxiety etc or just felt generally unwell. Heard good things about budesonide and I'm taking ventolin anyway, so may stick with this or should is it best just to go

Most people with asthma
Hi Asthma UK. You say in your post regarding the vaccine and PG 6 query for vaccine that "We now know that for most people with asthma their risk of dying from COVID19 is no greater than that of a person who doesn't have asthma at all." Just wondering.... Could you expand on who "most people" refers

Uncontrolled Asthma, repeated asthma attacks every day. Do I have bronchiectasis?
I am 52, slim, fit, healthy and quite fit with a balanced healthy diet no milk but plenty of bio yoghurt. I supplement with vit c, vit D and probiotics daily. I have had asthma since 4yo, productive chesty cough for twenty five years, chest infections two to six times a year swiftly cleared by Amoxicillin

Coping with breathlessness
Hi all. Hope everyone is managing to stay as well as possible under these difficult circumstances. I need to ask for a bit of advice/support. I have severe asthma, and often struggle with breathlessness during activities that for most people my age wouldn’t present a problem (brisk walking, stairs, gentle

Wheezing Cough
Takes me about an hour in the morning to stop coughing, as soon as I get out of bed I feel so bunged up in my chest and throat & I really can’t stop coughing until I clear mucus . That’s not easy as it doesn’t want to clear , my shoulders and head hurt and I can’t breathe very well even with the ventolin

Struggling with Covid and asthma.
Update: 02/02/21 Hubby and I finally well enough to leave hospital to continue our recovery. It's going to be a long haul as we both have on going issues due to Covid. Thank you for the well wishes. Home at last after 10 days in hospital. Can't fault the care we received throughout. Update: 29/01/21

Hi everyone, I have been prescribed Fostair 200 twice per day and Spiriva once per day . Which do I use first and which time of day.? I am confused by the advice. I also have a Ventolin inhaler but my doctor did not say to use this as well. Many thanks, Judy
