This is for those (which in included me) who thought they were overlooked and never asked to shield...we are not forgotten -we in the system and you could be bumped up out of the blue!!!!!!!!

Feels like real xmas, as i had an unexpected call this morning offering a jab, but i turned it down as it was too early (and was in a state of shock if be told...also thought it was scam LOL).

But i was offered next day, which i snapped up. I was even booked in for seconded jab !!

age 64 yrs 3 months

location: Cardiff wales

asthma type: chronic allergic/ chest infections -since childhood

meds : Seretide / Ventolin ( short course of prednisone steroids 18 months ago)

That’s really good news! Must be a huge relief! Are you sure it’s not just because they are now doing your age group in your area tho - or is it specifically because of health reasons?

really don't know ..in wales i was expecting to be in group 6, but it looks like I've been bumped to group 5....or they've spare vaccines and are now accessing patients from the next group????

group 5- all those 65 years of age and over

(im not 65 yet..but with chronic asthma )

group -6 all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality

it looks like interruption of the much discussed 'underlying health conditions' has changed - chronic asthma and sever classed the same?

My mum's friend's husband should be in the 65-69 group but had his on Thursday. I think maybe GP offered it now as he has recent BP issues and isn't the smallest man. So not officially CEV but they're concerned about it

I think it’s a surgery lottery but I am very pleased for you! My Mum and Dad were both offered a surprise jab a couple of weeks ago. They are 66 and 68 with some underlying health issues but were never told to shield. They were told their surgery belongs to a large conglomerate in the main town and the town is well ahead with the vaccine list. Most of their neighbours are intheir 80’s and late 70s and haven’t recieved their jabs yet. My Mum and Dad belong to a different surgery. Very lucky indeed!

That is fantastic! So pleased for you 💖. I had my first jab yesterday as in the CEV group. Feel a little fevery and arm is a bit sore but other than that fine. I’m resisting any analgesics to let my body do it’s thing. I will take something tonight so I can sleep because that’s when the body heals and I have back pain. So pleased to hear that you have had your first dose 💖
